Did this magazine come in cellophane?

What’s going on folks! I hope all who read this are having a swell day. I was wondering if anyone knew if the pokemon trading card game Nintendo players guide for gameboy magazine that had the holo venusaur black star promo in it came originally wrapped in cellophane? Or was it simply sold like it is pictured here.

I imagine since it had the card in it that it was probobly sealed in a wrapper but I’ve never seen one. Thanks alot! If anyone does have this still sealed (if it was sealed) let me know, id be interested in buying it!

I could be wrong but originally they didnt have the wrapper around. I think after awhile they realized that the promo venusaur was getting stolen and sealed the whole guide up. I remember looking through these as a kid and the promo was always gone.

Yeah without it being sealed I’d imagine that card got stolen like crazy! So you’re saying you think somewhere partway through their production they started to seal them in a wrapper?

That would be my guess, i think i have seen one or 2 floating on ebay with the wrap in the past.

Ok awesome! Thanks for answering this for me, I appreciate it greatly! I hope to score one one day

Only thing I really can find out how this thing was packaged.

Was that a old listing? It amazes me that they didnt do a plastic wrap. Well at first according to another poster to this thread. They had alot of faith in humanity to leave that card wide open like that haha. Thanks for digging in and chiming in!

I just Googled  Cannot say how old this listing is. But I remember from my younger days, in the 1990’s, that magazines often had promo stuff in it (like football stickers/cards from Panini etc.) and those were never packed in plastic until the 2000’s. Maybe this magazine wasn’t either…
