Furious Fists Launch Kit

I remember when Furious Fists was being released and this ‘new’ product was revealed, but I have never actually seen one either in person or on eBay. Not that I am after one or anything, but I have a few questions about it if anyone even knows about it.

"Supercharge your Pokémon Trading Card release day with the XY – Furious Fists Launch Kit! It includes 72 booster packs and 8 theme decks from the XY – Furious Fists expansion, plus 16 foil promo cards to trade, play, and add to your collection!
Each kit contains:
72 Furious Fists booster packs!
8 Furious Fists theme decks!
16 exciting foil cards: 8 each of two designs!
A unique shelf display to hold the product for the new release"

I am going to guess that this product did not catch on at all since I am not sure any set since has had it since.

What were the 16 exciting foil cards? Surely not separately numbered promos?

I remember seeing these being sold on either Collector’s Cache or TnT, but they were sold out by the time I saw them. There was definitely some interest in these based on what I read on a few forums, but I guess the sales just weren’t as high as expected. Also, didn’t Phantom Forces get one of these too? I haven’t seen them for Primal Clash, RS or AO but I think I might have seen them being sold for PF too.

I remember this massive disappointment well. Haha.

It was a huge bust as a product. The idea was basically to get hobby stores to buy into theme decks heavily in addition to just the booster boxes, but there was essentially no valuable return for paying the full price to acquire all of those things. The holofoil cards included were exactly the same as the holofoil variants that come in the single booster blisters with a coin and promo that you see at larger retailers. You just got 8 copies of each.

So there was essentially zero upside to ordering this product.

Actually, every set has had one since. Each pair of promos were just 8 of each Three Pack Blister Promos.

Right!

It was the 3 pack blister promos, not the single pack ones. Thanks for that correction.

I suppose I should modify my statement from “was no upside” to “is no upside.” Haha.

The price was way to high. Didn’t these retail for like $299.99 BEFORE tax?
