Kangaskhan Trophy Promo Card. Will this Grade a PSA 10 ? :)

Right so i just obtained this bad boy yesterday and id really like to get your thoughts on it.

The back is flawless, the centering flawless.

The front has 2 printing dots, top left corner and in the middle at the bottom, both on the gold border.

There is also a vertical printing line going down the holo part of the card to the left kangaskhan.

And there is a very minor scratch below the right hand as you face him, only visible a very bright light at specific angles.
Below are photos of all the imperfections, any opinions and advice is welcome. :slightly_smiling_face:

I apologize in advance for the amount of photos and their size but i want to be thorough

Here is the imgur album in which you can zoom in on any of the photos

Nice card! I would lean more towards 9 re the holo, but has a shot at 10 only one way to find out…

Thought there was a massive horizontal printing line, but then realised it was just the sleeve :stuck_out_tongue:. But yeah I agree, looks to be 9, I agree back and centring is flawless, however that vertical printing line and small scratch just doesn’t convince me its going to be a 10.

The only reason its not going to get a 10 is because of the print line and the scratch on the holo. However it might still get a 10

how did you get this? this is a great find! Looks to be a solid 9 with a chance of 10. You’ll probably get a BGS 9.5 if you so choose to do that. Good luck.

great card, would love the story of the quest that led it to your hands

Yeh it’s a mint 9 for me, great pickup  congrats!

Think they might forgive the flaws considering its rarity ?

I would hope not, all cards should be graded without bias

I’d get it graded simply to have it inside a case and in safety. Grade would be irrelevant for a card this rare, for me anyway.

have to agree with this

Looks like a 9 to me. I think the combination of the print lines and the scratch is just enough to hold it back from being a 10. As someone else said though, I could see it getting a BGS 9.5 because other than the slight imperfections on the holo it looks fantastic.

Welcome to the Trophy Kangaskhan club! It’s a wonderful card. I personally find it to be the most appealing of any standalone promo card (other than the Illustrator). Incredibly rare, 1998, only given out at a single tournament in which parents and their children played together, totally unique Ken Sugimori illustration that was never used for any other card, holo… doesn’t get any better than that!

I will definitely get it graded, to ensure it current condition doesnt deteriorate.
