Just wanted to post a little update from things in my vault
Completed this set last night, The OG “gold stars”, Champion Road 2000 cards.

It’s likely that a set of these promos was distributed to all participants of either the main official tournament, or to participants of the Neo Prerelease League. However, no official first party documentation confirms the exact distribution of the cards.
These are super affordable in PSA 9 and are relatively rare, they are around pop 100 each with about half being PSA 9
Picked up a PCL lab coat card recently.
You had to battle a PCL employee and win to earn this card.
Pokumon: Battle Road 2004 - Pokumon
This side event was only available starting with the Battle Road Summer events. Entry into this side event was decided by a lottery on the event date.
Pokemon Card Laboratory (PCL) “researchers” and staff members portraying Gym Leaders were available at this corner to challenge trainers to battle with 30-card decks. PCL is the Pokemon TCG’s development team for the game, so the decks they used were all finely tuned. Defeating a PCL researcher would win you a special promo card and a gym leader badge.
