I am fairly certain (although take responsibility if I turn out to be wrong) that the seller, “pokemonmania” (which shortens to “pokemonm”), is in fact the well-known pkonno. This is the same seller who had put up a Snap Bulbasaur (ahem) on ZenMarket Plus last week before taking it down and then putting it up on Yahoo Japan for a higher price under his known name (pkonno2002). The pictures were taken in the same location that the Snap Bulbasaur was. The item listing “pko_002” follows the listing he had for the Snap Bulbasaur “pko_001.”
Edit: Here is a screen cap of the Snap Bulbasaur listing that he had posted the other day
Then, he took the listing off of ZenMarket Plus and instantly put it up on Yahoo Japan.
oh and its got a the new psa label, i wonder if this was already graded and upgraded to new capsule or if this person had it raw and then decided to have it graded to sell. I would love to know the story behind his card, how he got it, when and all the details. Thanks for the great post.
Isn’t that kinda low for a BIN? I guess because this is unexpected as opposed to an advertised auction it might catch people off guard but that price seems extremely reasonable. Not sure how Zenmarket handles items that are this valuable so that may be a barrier but still…
Either way this whole extra copy thing is interesting to watch. I’m not a high profile buyer so it doesn’t really affect me but I do wish there was more concrete information about these cards. Maybe this one isn’t an extra though, who knows.
I just edited the OP to include the screen capture showing the Snap Bulbasaur that was listed by the same account and how as soon as it was taken down it was put up for sale by pkonno with the same pictures.
This thread has been pointed to as evidence that Yuichi Konno was 1 of the 4 main people (or at least the “fourth developer”) involved in the creation of the Pokemon Trading Card Game.
