Price Check Please - Kouki Saitou Eevee's!

Sorry - I tried looking up pricing for these; but them being a unique set I was hoping someone here could give me their opinions on what they would list them as price wise.

I never wanted to sell these, but I have a baby on the way and I want to use whatever money I make from my cards for baby supplies! I have pretty much everything priced out…except these.

So my question is; If you were to stick these on eBay, what would you price them as? Would you do an Auction, or Buy It Now?

I appreciate the help as always guys and gals. Have a nice weekend :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Apologies if someone can help me embed this, I’m to stupid to figure it out:

My dumb-ass figured it out.

I found two sold listings for a PSA 10 set at $300. The only option I see now is $400.
Let’s put the value of the unsigned set at $200. We will arbitrarily assign a value of $50 per sig, 50*8 = $400Double the value because it’s pretty as a set → $1200
If you need the cash yesterday, you should probably auction it. Depending on how far away your baby is you might have more time. You’re gonna milk the most money for it if you put it high BIN and take best offers, but it may take a while. If it was me, I’d probably list it around 3k and see what offers come in.

Thank you- I will probably list it at around 2-3k and take offers. I still have 6 months, just trying to get ahead while I can. Thank you lots for your input!

Note that for something like this where thousands were signed, going too high on your price point is likely to make people assume you have unreasonable expectations.

If I saw a $300 set listed at 10x its value because it is signed, I wouldn’t even make an offer.

Were thousands signed? I was under the impression these were signed at a private event with limited seating :open_mouth:
Kouki’s signature seems pretty rare. At least by the listings on eBay. Would it be unreasonable to assume $150-200 per card is too much? $1,200-$1,600 for the set? Would that sound like a better price to you? Maybe I can list it as a BuyItNow for $1,600 and lower it $100 every month until someone buys?

Thanks for your input! (:

This is a good point and should definitely be considered. But I would argue that this is not an item that you could easily go somewhere else to obtain. This kind of item you will have a lot of people that would not be interested at any price and a handful of people it will really resonate with. For the people in the latter, this may be the only shot they have to acquire an item like this so I think you will still have some interest at a high price.

I would still start high personally since it’s just the selling strategy I normally go with. I rarely sell things and personally I don’t mind if it sits on ebay for months to years. The benefit of listing high is that you have full control over what price you want to sell it. It’s not hard to lower the price either. But yeah, this thread asked for opinions and I only provided what my approach would be. It’s not always the best approach. If the OP wants it gone by, say, the end of September, I don’t recommend my approach.

If you want it to sell and at a high price, I would personally sell them individually…buying as a set is really hard because you’re going to be targeting someone who is looking for a complete set, along with them all signed by the same person.

Assuming you want them to sell for 2k, if I was a collector looking for the signature I would gladly pay more individually for a signed card than to buy 8 copies just to get his signature.

Pun intended?

I’d say right around the $600 to $1200 mark. Saitou hasn’t signed anywhere close to Arita, but just because they aren’t listed on ebay doesn’t mean that they aren’t out there. It really just depends on if the buyers want that specific set, because usually the card helps dictate the overall price (especially if the autograph isn’t super unique, like if it had a sketch).

Do you think I’d get more if I split them up?

You should try $250 obo each on eBay. You could get decent offers with that price.

probably, you might want to take Rayquaza’s advice. the more autographs that are out there, the more niche that they have to be. i’m not sure if there are a lot of people looking for that specific set. personally, i’m only interested in sketches, but maybe there is someone out there who is willing to play 1-2k+ for the eevee costume set.

Are the cards or cases signed? I’m guessing PSA would authenticate a signed case?

The cards are signed and authenticated.

The cards are signed then authenticated by psa

Thanks, i think thats what I’ll do.

You could potentially list the complete set together and individual cards. If any individual card sells, you’d have to take down the complete set listing.

I’ve personally graded over 700 cards from the event. So It seems likely that the number is in the thousands, yeah. Low thousands, maybe, but highly improbable it is not at least a couple thousand.

That’s not to talk down the value. A huge chunk of those disappear into collections. But it is enough to at least make people consider other copies. I think you’ll see a lot more hit the market later on. Another batch of several hundred was sent off to PSA last month.

Also, you did not need to participate in the event to access the signing. You just had to be present and pay. So there wasn’t a seating cap or anything. The majority of cards were signed for people strictly there for the signing itself and not for the Regional tournament.

That’s just general information. Regarding selling: I wouldn’t recommend lowering the price so frequently. Maybe just throw it up at the lower end of the listing range you provided (2K) and see what offers come in. Then if you aren’t satisfied in the timeframe you were hoping for, consider both lowering price and breaking up the set.
