Does anybody know how to find or what is the approximate value of the 1996 corocoro comic Glossy ivy picachu psa 9? The card has a pop 5 and there are only two graded 10. Somehow there are no sales of graded cards and only a few in raw but poor condition come up for sale every once in a while.
Thanks
Keiji Kinebuchi is the correct artist. The Glossy error artist coro is actually pretty common but I believe PSA has them labeled with two different names hence the pop. The glossy corrected artist with Keiji Kinebuchi is pretty rare since its from a coro coro mail in lottery limited to 2000 copies.
I’ve been looking for a graded copy of this one for a while, it seems to pop up a lot less than the non-glossy Asobikata version with the corrected illustrator (presumably because it’s harder to grade due the gloss).
@quuador has set me on a quest to find that card…not really, he mentioned it once and I’ve just kept looking because I wanna be the one to find it for him haha! But my god is it impossible to find. Just wanted to mention that. Also to help get to word out for his desire help get that massive collection finished. Unless he found it, I haven’t actually checked his collection thread recently, so I don’t know.
The card is pop 6 now (did you grade a new one?), I would not know about the value, but how has this card only a total pop of 22. This card is not really that hard to find (although it is in good condition).
Really surprised that the first ever pokemon card only has a pop of 22, I would suspect that there are quite a few of this card in the backlog, although not in high grades of course.
Unfortunately not yet, so thanks a lot for looking for me. I’ve also looked around quite a few times myself, but without any luck thus far. Despite 2000 copies, it’s hard to find. It being from 1998 doesn’t help either of course. It’s unfortunate I only know about this card since mid-way 2019, instead of since I started collecting 6.5 years ago… (If anyone finds one of these for sale or has one they’re willing to sell, please let me know.)
As for the Glossy 1996 CoroCoro Comic variant, I agree with Gary that it’s hard to find a NM copy. The older peelable glossy cards are overall more affected by edge/corner damage at the back, and in my experience at least 1/3rd of them are also off-centered. So it doesn’t really surprise me the PSA-9 and 10 pop is low. As for value, I honestly can’t say. The prices in the current market are all over the place tbh. Considering the low amount of copies and difficulty to grade, it’s whatever someone is willing to pay for it I guess.
