1997 Japanese Pikachu Trophy Set

I was just flicking through pojo’s pokemon magazine and came across the 1997 japanese pikachu trophy set. Does anyone know who brought the set? The serial number is different to the ones owned by smpratte and poke-geri.

The cards in the photo are definately from the 1997 event. The cards could possibly have been taken out of the psa cases and regraded again in the hope of getting a better grade. Lets see what smpratte says :blush:

Wow only 22 grand… Thats shit all. Shit all compared to what there worth now. ABout 20 Grand AUD ungraded Id say. I really want these cards One day… all 3. There the cutest of the cute, but the bronze one in my opinion is the cutest.

I want to know why everyone before Eratosthenes was so malicious as to claim the Earth was flat and spread their false information around!
Come on. Have some respect for discovery. It’s one of the most fundamental human experiences.

That aside, this is sweet and is a perfect example of why we need more people willing to do real research into existing documents in this hobby. There is so much information that we’ve lost that could be recovered with some passion, dedication, and investigation!

I used to write for Pojo’s Pokemon magazine (although I didn’t write that particular article). I’m planning to post most of my articles on my company website once we finish a major redesign.

I’ve got copies of all of the magazines that featured my stories, too. So if anybody is trying to recall something they remembered from a particular issue, feel free to let me know and (if I have time) I can try to look it up.

So is there exact same ones for 1998? I read somewhere in here that a members card was mislabeled. That the card even though labeled as, was not from 1997 but from 1998.

Have both of these 1997 pikachu trophy already been taken into account?

Both were sold on yahoo japan on 27/04/2012

Looking at this i can see 4 copies of the no.3 trainer

  1. Smpratte
  2. Pokegeri
  3. Graded copy sold in 2000 (pojo article)
  4. Copy sold on yahoo japan in 2012
