All of those are quite low pop under 100, moltres around 35. any idea regarding value, I see some crazy prices on ebay. also wondering why the masterball is so much lower in value, it’s a pop73, really old and i absolutely love the artwork.
edit: wrong section, wanted to post in price and market discussion, my bad
The holos are really stunning in person, a real improvement to the already great artwork of their original release in the Vending series. @djgigabyte is right about the Master Ball, there are two per box. Also I assume that as a trainer with “crappy” 90s CGI it is just not as popular as the Pokemon holos. I’m more puzzeled why the Diglett and Dugtrio fly under the radar so much. There’s only one of them per box and the artwork is pretty cool IMO.
I think ~300 USD is the ballpark for PSA 10 holos at the moment, mainly because the demand just isn’t that big atm. If you consider the box prices (~2000 USD) and their often bad centering that’s still a pretty good price.
But I don’t really care, since I’m only after PSA 9s of the birds, only missing the Zapdos now
i had those in psa9 twice, but all sold, i could’ve given you the zapdos, damn
yeah i still have the diglett and dugtrio sealed love the artwork of this set, outstanding, even the box itself!
First of all, I love these cards, I love the box they come in, and I love the Vending Series as a whole.
But may I just point out that at the moment the price ratio between box and the holos doesn’t seem to make any sense?
I feel like I have yet to see one of these boxes sell for over $1,000, yet it comes with the legendary bird trio, Scyther, and Master Ball holos guaranteed. Knowing the quality of Japanese cards I assume they all come with a good chance of getting a 10 right out of the box. And there are a lot of other cool boxes as well!
It’s possible my information on the price of the box could be outdated though.
I LOVE these cards and have a mixed PSA 9-10 set myself. I graded the scyther and zapper as a 10 and the other two as PSA 9 due to centering.
Cards are not super easy grades because the holos are on top of the deck when you get them. Very easy to have a corner ding I think. I always thought they were undervalued and I have another moltres that I was hoping to get signed by Arita, which would be super unique. Charizard is not the only boss fire pokemon he did art for
just picked the first picture i saw on google which shows all the cards few years back for 200$ each, that’s what i remember, too. now i see those for 2000$ on ebay for each bird (that’s why i was asking for reasonable prices here). don’t know who the seller is, seems like a super high price though. but actually, regarding how old & how beautiful they are and how few 10s out there are, also considering the ridiculous prices right now, it seems more or less “reasonable” eventually lol.
The last sealed boxes I saw were listed for over $2000 each. And like mentioned above, even pulling a box fresh card you are still dealing with centering and ding issues.
They aren’t rare. I can link you to $15-20 copies avail on japanese platforms right now. The premium is for the psa10 grade and them being removed from the full box set and sold separately. They’re pretty cards tho.
