So in the last 24 hours, 3 x PSA 9 1st edition base set Charizard were sold on eBay for $5500(Canada), $5750(USA) and $6000(UK). From watchcount, the buyers were different users.
For a card that doesn’t see movement much on eBay for the past weeks only to have 3 copies sold for above the last established market price within 24 hours, does that strike anyone as suspicious?
EDIT: I can’t say anything about the Canada and USA sale but the UK sale went through.
DOUBLE EDIT: The USA listing was relisted as an auction.
It is indeed weird how people behave in a sheep herd mentality sometimes. They pass up on good deals and then they end up paying extra more often than not.
OP, I think these prices are more than fair. Sure we saw some lower sales, mainly at auction but you’re just not finding a copy under $5k right now. Not on feebay anyway… $6k sounds about right. We shall see in the near future if this price holds or we witness another minor retrace. Lets not forget this card was going as high as $7k+ not that long ago until everyone tried to sell theirs at the same time and ended up flooding the market.
PWCC has three auctioning off starting tomorrow. I’m curious to see how they will do considering multiple are going at the same time plus whoever bought the ones that just sold may now not being participating in the auctions.
With PWCC killing this cards value your about to see 3 go for under 5k unfortunately. It’s been a long time since the card hit 6k but hopefully it starts happening again soon
All three have fairly visible flaws: one looks like it has a giant scratch on the foil although that’s likely on the case, it still looks awful. The other two have visible edge and corner issues.
The last PWCC auction had 2 PSA 9s, both went for well under $5k. I have no doubt that at least one of these will be under $4k, maybe under $3.5k.
It’s a buyer’s market right now. We’re seeing pretty deep price drops on many cards.
Until people stop dumping these cards off on PWCC, realized auction prices are going to continue to fall.
True… and it’s not just pwcc, it feels like people don’t have the patience to wait. I see the same thing going on with Shadowless 9s where there’s sometimes a dozen copies listed at the same time. That was unheard of a few months back when I was in the market for one, but as soon as it hit $2000+ everyone has been looking to cash out.
