A recent auction by probstein ended at 7300, can anyone confirm the legitimacy of this? a bit too high compared to recent sales
Wait to see if it gets relisted.
I saw that too and am wondering the same.
Ended at $7300 with 0 feedback bidder. 2 bidders with some feedback at $6100-$6300 so looks like it could have possibly more legitimately ended around that price. But I think the bid up to $7300 is not a legitimate bid and the card will be relisted.
Here is the listing. I agree with the observations. Probstein is a primarily consignment based, and have plenty of poop auctions. If this was bid up, it was probably done by the owner of the card.
Either way it is a solid 9. I wouldn’t expect it to go on the low end.
these fake bidders could at least get some skills and make it look legitimate. smh.
I was watching that auction end last night. Seen that high bidder with zero feedback. Thought it looked odd. Like who would bid that high for their first card. It worked out to 10 G’s in my Canadian dollars. Someone was trying to over-inflate the market.
While this may in fact be a shill, I have sold a couple PSA 9 1st Ed zards to 0 feedback buyers. Both were their first purchases, as this is the most popular card.
I would be more surprised if someones first purchase was a super niche item like this.
I guess the only way to know if this was a liget sale would be to record the PSA card number and see if it comes back on auction from the same seller. It’d be nice to start the year out with a strong market though.
True but maybe…sometimes it can happen that some people make an offer just for fun o they immediately regret their offer after they win.
I’ve seen several times people who i know facing this reality i’ve just told above.
By the way it’s normal thinking that the auction could be steered by shill bidding (i think it in the same way) Anyway nobody can be 100% sure.
