$125 for a PSA 9 of that seems absolutely insane. I wouldn’t use this as a basis for determining the PSA 10 value.
The card seems very easy to grade (9 PSA 10s vs. 5 PSA 9s in the pop) and is basically worthless raw. If I had a PSA 10 of it, I’d list it on eBay for $100 OBO and try to get at least $50. That’s how I’d approach trying to sell it…
My personal philosophy is that with the cost of PSA grading so high right now, why not try to get a premium? Lots of obscure cards like this will probably not have the pop move at all.
I wouldn’t expect that card is worth more than $100. Low graded supply does not equal overall low supply. In this case, it more likely means low demand.
You can of course catch a buyer who may be interested if you list at $200, but I would expect 99% of the time, I’d expect it’ll sit there.
I don’t disagree, but I’d say that a $100 price tag already includes that premium. The card is readily available for <$10 raw and I’m not aware of any Pachirisu collectors, nor people collecting complete DP regular holo sets in PSA 10. It’s not even the 1st appearance of Pachirisu either. I can’t imagine the card having real significance to any collector – the card is completely obscure and random. If I had one, I’d be ecstatic to sell it for $100. And because of the way the market is currently, it wouldn’t surprise me if you could get that price.
I have a PSA 10 that is pop 2 and that also likely won’t move in pop at all. But that fact alone doesn’t make it valuable. People have to actually want a card in order for it to be valuable.
I’ve never heard anyone say their favourite Pokemon is Darkrai, but you got the weebs who love cute stuff like Pachirisu. I’d say they are on the same level
Totally different. As Cerulean said, Darkrai’s a legendary. But more importantly, that was also the rookie Darkrai. So there is at least a little bit of appeal there. This Pachirisu has nothing particularly unique about it. It’s just a totally random, middle-of-the-road DP holo.
