Long story short, January 2020 I purchased 8 booster boxes for $29,000 which was a scam. The seller didn’t have any of the items in question and did everything within his power to get away with the scam. He claimed to have sold his ebay account, claimed the items had arrived with me yet couldn’t prove any tracking, claimed it was someone else that was doing it, cancelled two refunds and changed his eBay handle!
This guy is a repeat high end scammer and low level raffle dealer. The process took 2 months+ to resolve and get my money back. Video below.
Watch out folks there’s some terrible people out there, luckily I know this guys full name, contacts details and home address and have been in touch with his local police department too!
@uaepokemon, I’m glad you were able to get this issue resolved. Thanks for sharing your story. I hope this can reach potential buyers who were thinking of doing the same and now won’t happen to them. Good luck in your future purchases.
Thanks for sharing! I get annoyed about losing a few pounds on an item so i can only imagine the stress you went through! glad it worked out in the end!
When dealing with items that are thousands of dollars, make sure the seller is very reputable. Can’t stress it enough to be extremely cautious with “deals” for these types of prices.
Damn. Did he really think you weren’t going to follow up on the money that was lost? How stupid of him. Another scammer exposed, another reminder to be safe, dot your i’s and cross your t’s.
@seeingdouble and @thane, He said he messaged the seller and asked him to do it so he basically put it in writing. Both would likely be in trouble but I doubt anything will come of it. The bigger issue was the scam.
Suck for sure man. Glad to have light shined on this person. Iv’e been watching him but seems to be another flipping raffle poster boy on IG. Stay clear folks!
this is horrible!!! WHAT IS INSANEEEE is that this is the first person I ever bought off on Instagram, was super Legit up until I sent the money/invoice over to him, then he didn’t answer in 2 days, then shipped my items ( 3 1st edition psa jungle holos and a jungle pack) and they seem to be legit, but was just a weird interaction once I sent the invoice.
Thanks for sharing that’s a ton of money for me I get anxiety when I buy something for £50 and it doesn’t arrive by estimated delivery date lol Glad it turned out okay in the end. Be careful everyone!
This is terrible. I had something similar happen to me for skyridge boxes 5+ years ago. They sent empty boxes filled with random cards. I eventually got my refund and I’m glad that you were able to get yours.
What is the likelihood that this person and the others who are doing scams in the $10k+ range will get prosecuted? They must assume they could get away with it because it’s pokemon.
This happened to me about two years ago on ebay. I paid $30k for a graded comic. Seller was clearly a collector and had hundreds of positive feedback. An empty box showed up in the mail. Seller tried all sorts of BS. After about 45 days with help from ebay and the police I got my money back
My conclusion is that ebay must know how to scare the bejesus out of people in these situations. ebay was very comforting and professional about it the whole way through.
