A question about Mega Bloks (and help finding a specific Shedinja)

Hey everyone,

This is my first time posting here, so apologies if this has found its way to the wrong place or I’ve inadvertently missed off any of the necessary pre-post housekeeping. Please let me know if that’s the case.

For the last few months, I’ve had a lot of fun finding and adding to my ever-growing collection of cards and memorabilia featuring my favourite Pokemon, Shedinja. Increasingly often, I’ve found myself stumbling across threads and discussions here on efour that have been massively helpful - when it comes to niche non-tcg cards or obscure Japanese items or seemingly unidentifiable stickers, so many times already I’ve set about Googling in search of answers and have found what I needed already having been discussed, oftentimes by @Quuador and @nidokingdom and @azulryu, so thank you all for being so knowledgable and so helpful.

I recently discovered that, in Japan, there has been a seemingly long-running collaboration between Pokemon, Bandai and Mega Bloks to create collectible items of all kinds, some of which include these absurdly cute little single-block ‘characters’, the likes of which you can see below:

Now, seeing that there is a Ninjask character block (in that first image) has, of course, lead me to believe there is likely a Shedinja character block, and if that’s the case then I’d love to get my hands on one. However, I just cannot seem to find any proof that there is one!

Does anybody have any more information or knowledge about these products or, even better, know where I might find a list of all the Pokemon to have been featured as these single block characters? I’ve read pretty exhaustively on the Pokemon Collectors Wiki and on Bulbapedia about all the Mega Bloks and Mega Construx products, of which there are so very many, and have trawled eBay. I’ve come across sets dedicated to Charizard, Blastoise and Venusaur that all came with a selection of these smaller, accompanying blocks, and also Poke Ball-themed products such as these, which evidently contain a handful or so each:

Most accessible of all, there are even many Japanese shops/sellers on eBay listing these in their dozens as (or similar to) “Pokemon Mega Bloks Block Figure” but I just cannot for the life of me seem to find proof of a single-block Shedinja. I’d appreciate any help in my so-far-fruitless search!

Thanks for your time.

Logic is unfortunately not very commonly used when these kinds of sets are often put together so it’s not said that shedinja exists even though ninjask does, hopefully my doubts are proven wrong tho and you find a shedinja block for yourself! Also welcome to the forum  Always nice to see another species collector, you might have something to chat with @holoshedinja too!

What a great first post! I unfortunately can’t do much to help here, but I agree that these blocks are super cool and I hope you’re able to get an answer about them!

I found this site which I think catalogues the Mega Bloks by their code. I am not sure if everything is accounted for but there does not seem to be any evidence of any Shedinja Bloks, unfortunately.

I still hope you can find more concrete info but based on sales on Mercari JP I also could not find any Shedinja Bloks.

Cheers!

That’s a pretty great online resource - nice find! You’re right, it doesn’t seem as though there is a Shedinja block.

On one hand, it’s a bit of a relief to know there likely isn’t one to try to track down. I can certainly hear my wallet sighing contentedly. On the other, trying to uncover more information about these (somewhat) obscure items and source sellers for them is a major part of the fun, so it’s a shame it seems the manufacturers skipped on Shedinja. Never mind, thanks for your help!

Sadly, I think you’re right. Either logic was typically abandoned or for some unknowable reason they did indeed make a Shedinja block but kept the entire tiny, plastic horde under lock and key somewhere at Mega Block HQ! Appreciate your input and the introduction to @holoshedinja - what fine taste in 'mon you have!

Also, welcome to the forums. Glad to have you on here. I am very curious to see your Shedinja collection. Besides the cards, I am sure there are other non tcg items and would love to see your collection sometime.

Great first post which actually also helped me check out the mega bloks side of Pokemon which is very interesting. Thanks.

Cheers!

Hello fellow Shedinja enjoyer! You have great taste in pokemon

I have in fact seen these blocks around (I just love them, they’re so cute) and never found a mention of Shedinja in either English or Japanese. I’m basically 100% sure it was never made. I’d love to be wrong on that though!

If I can’t find a Shedinja item after a day or two of deep diving I just say it probably doesn’t exist. It’s not a popular pokemon at all.

Her posts arent getting sent for some reason, but she said:

Honestly, I’ve just been looking through the play sets that we have and I think there was only a Ninjask. :sob: We have them all including the sets with poke specific “keychain ball” boxes and I don’t see it anywhere. They also didn’t bring out a Alakazam to my knowledge either as people keep asking for it. I’m sorrryyy.

It is possible that I’m missing a set and it’s there, but idk. :grimacing:

Ahh, that’s great to know. It’s looking more and more as though there simply isn’t one. Thank you @Hanalyssa for checking their collection and reporting back, and to you, @rosario, for the link-up and for helping that message on its way. Much appreciated!
