[Abandoned] New BGS Grading System for Gem Mint 10s

Looks like a new BGS grading scale is coming. Picture supposedly from their booth at the Mint Collective event.

They have since decided not to go through with this change

Trying to save themselves from oblivion. Why am I not surprised. Would love to see all the details though it’s interesting.

Yeah I saw this picture earlier, thought it might be an April fools joke. I just can’t see a way they could/would do this.

Wait what?

:man_shrugging: It may just be an April Fools like @joetehman said. I haven’t found any other announcements, just that image floating around. Which seems suspect, honestly.

An early April fool oh well. It was interesting if true.

Someone on blowout posted this:

So if this is true, quad+ and quad++ constitutes a new grade, 10 Gem Mint Pristine.
I guess we’ll know more soon.

Gem mint 9.5 and a gem mint 10?

Presumably. Two Pristine 10 grades already.

They’ve probably painted themselves into several corners. Bringing a gem mint 9.5 to a gem mint 10 fight didn’t work out, removing the gem mint descriptor from the 9.5 certainly wouldn’t work out, keeping things as they are didn’t work out either. Rocks and hard places.

You know what they say: if it’s broken, break it more

I would like a direct source, a link. This seems ridiculous.

Yes please otherwise this could be an elaborate ruse for an e4 April fool’s thread lol.
