Never heard of this. Seems easy to make fake stickers…

What this Sticker certifies is that the grade on the card is absolutely top of the line and the highest category of 9’s possible. It is a very neat new company that I believe will change the market and the security sticker is pretty awesome looking! You can be rest assured that this is Mint 9 of premium quality. The stickers are not easy to get at all, on 9’s I had a success rate of about 35% and 10’s were even less. These stickers will be coveted.
I heard someone say that the sticker means that the card is basically a 10.
Also told me to invest in bitconnect.
I cringe every time I see that hand on ebay.
Yes! The easiest way to spot a flipper on ebay: hand photos.
I have never even heard of this ACV thing. I also don’t understand what it would even be for. A 9 is a 9. If it should’ve been a 10 then it would be a ten. I personally would never pay a premium for this oddity and I would probably just be mad that there is a sticker on my beautiful PSA case…
Smh…
I feel like I’ve got some strong 10s… if I get the sticker added does that make it go up to 11?
I was just about to create a post when I saw that listing but was beaten to it. So if the sticker is on the outside of the case does that mean it can be removed and put on another card? I can’t even find this company when I search em
So basically it is a company that grades other companies grading? Sorry but that is absolutely rediculous.
You guys are ignoring the positive aspects of this sticker.
It’s also incredibly ugly.
Very meta – verifying a verified card. If this catches on we’ll be verifying verified verified cards.
I’d need to get the sticker graded.
CAC is actually a company that does exactly this and is fairly prevalent in the coin world. They do it for PCGS (same company as PSA but for coins) and NGC (BGS equivalent) as well as maybe even some ANACS (better than whatever the 3rd best grader is for cards) coins.
People laugh it off now, but I wouldn’t be surprised if in 10-20 years some company pops up that gets more recognition and is taken seriously for doing exactly this. Maybe even CAC will start taking up cards as well as they are already fairly reputable and large.
I don’t fancy it myself and have never used it on coins, but CAC verified PCGS/NGC certified coins have passed through my hands and very frequently do earn a premium over the regular PCGS/NGC counterpart.
I’m starting a new company called “Slippery Slope Subjective Authentication Authentication” where I will meticulously look over any third-party certified PSA card and tell you if the third party’s assessment of the card grade is correct. If It’s correct I remove the sticker.
How could you compare NGC to BGS… Haha
Personally, I think that this “sticker-service” (CAC) is a complete waste of money! Having this “sticker-service” within the coin-grading industry is just STUPID! PCGS and NGC are almost always spot-on with each other; and with coin-grading being on a scale from 1-70, there’s A LOT more “slots” for each coin to fit into grade-wise (eliminates that whole “weak” vs. “strong” debate). I won’t say that PCGS / NGC are perfect and never make mistakes; however, the percentage is MUCH LOWER compared with PSA / BGS! And Yet, this “sticker service” (CAC) is starting to gain ground among certain coin-collectors.
I’m not sure what type of coins you’re referring to @gottaketchumall - I’ve only ever seen “low-value” (couple-hundred dollar) coins with the CAC Sticker. But, this “premium” that comes with the CAC Sticker is basically non-existant (from my experience). The coin will either sell for the same amount as the Non-CAC Example and/or a few bucks more - I guess you could call that a premium, but you also have to take into account the extra cost of this service and from what I’ve seen the “premium” doesn’t even match the cost of this service.
Switching back to the card-market… I can see this type of service gaining popularity among card collectors at some point in the future. Just look through E4 and how many threads there are referring to weak vs. strong grades and how PSA mis-graded certain cards. While I’d never go for this service myself, I can see the logic behind this within the card-market - and if the coin-market could have this type of service, it’s not long before the card-market will too!
This.
@teraz
Ahhh cheers. It would be good if you knew the exact parameters of how a card can get the sticker besides being a ‘prime example of the grade it originally received’. If the sticker can differentiate between a strong and weak ‘X’ then I don’t see a problem. However, I generally look at higher end cards meticulously before buying anyway so I’ll trust my own eyes first and foremost!
I imagine this guy also started the company?
