He’s messaged me about my past sales and usually asks way too many questions about what cards I’m selling and eventually tells me they are not worth much. This most recent sale, he took it to a new level.
Damn, this is getting worrisome as a rather novice collector in the new ex cards. Are the new fakes pretty distinguishable? I typically only buy singles but I never thought it was so bad that even the newer cards were faked. That guy…what a scumbag. Not only he’s lowballing you constantly, but trying to scam the other people too. Pretty toxic to the community =/
The China EX cards are very distinguishable. They feel disgusting to the touch - the front of them is matte and the back is glossy. There’s also some pretty noticeable printing weirdness. Here’s a couple pics back from when I had to dispute a case on ebay:
Thanks so much for your informative post! These fakes are pretty easy to spot luckily. The lack of focus on benoit’s pictures made it look like the cards are pretty legitimate.
You should tell us his name so people know who they’re dealing with in the future. Maybe even get him banned from facebook groups with these kind of scammy tactics.
Man you really carried that conversation several country miles beyond its expiration. If someone asks just one stupid question or gives a single low ball offer they’re auto-banned for me. For life.
Well, on a positive note, it looks like he’s banned from selling on Facebook. When I checked a few days ago, he had around 30 different items listed. One of the items was the fake EXs, so I reported it. After checking back today, he has 0 items for sale.
Does Facebook really check that on the Marketplace and/or groups? I have seen major bulk of fake cards showing up on a group I am part off. Mainly parents dumping their kids holiday purchases from Turkey, but I think I can only report to the group admin
