Amada Sticker - Uncut Sheet??

Hi everyone! I have a quick and strange question.

One of my favorite niches in the hobby are non-tcg cards such as the Carddasses and Sealdasses.
I recently purchased an Amada stickers lot (with many in addition to the ones in the picture), and found something very strange.

All the clear gold stickers seem to have been manually cut from a larger sheet, and 3 of them are still joined together!

This seems to only be the case for the clear gold stickers, the textured ones seem to have been factory-cut normally, as you can see here.

I have another HUGE lot of these, and have never encountered uncut sheets / manually cut sheets.
Is that a thing? Is this rare?

Thank you for any insights :pray:t3:

Hey there,

until a few minutes ago, I thought I would own a complete set of the first Amada Hyper Sticker Collection from 1996. However, looking at your post and your awesome discovery, I have to revise my opinion.

Actually, I never saw those gold stickers without texture before and I don’t think that they were made to see the light of day.

If you refere to the first booster packs of the series, they state clearly, that there are 203 stickers in existence, 150 normal stickers, 35 prism stickers and 18 gold stickers. Later sticker nr. 000 (golden Mew with different texture) was added with the selling of the “Perfect Album 1”.

In my imagination, those stickers you own were taken out of the normal production process before the texture was added and than accidentally taken out of the factory. I really don’t have another explanation for your find and I’m curious if another member of efour has seen those before.

Thanks for sharing this with us and best wishes from Germany

Martin

Wow Martin - that’s amazing! :star_struck:
Amazing collection and very interesting theory!

I looked into my other big lot and could indeed only find gold ones with texture.

However - I did find clean silver ones. I suppose these are newer and were factory cut?

Attaching some pics.

I am still learning about these sets, there seem to be so many different ones! Plus I’m fascinated by the other obscure series - Meijis, Prism Clears and more.

Thank you for sharing!

Hey Liron,
thank you very much for your kind reply. The clean silver ones are indeed part of a different set that is namend after the second Anime series - “Pocket Monsters Advanced Generations” (ポケットモンスター アドバンスジェネレーション). Those were produced between 2003 and 2004 in at least seven different sets (as far as I know and have seen online), each consisting of 95 stickers (75 “normal stickers” (ノーマルシール) , 15 “metallic stickers” (メタリックシール), 5 “laser stickers” (レーザーシール)).

As my collection focusses on the early vintage stuff of the first generation, I personally don’t own any single ones, but some sealed booster packs. Below I will post one of the first part of the set and one one of the sixth part of the set. This was, by the way, the last set of stickers produced by Amada. The next set “Pocket Monsters Diamond and Pearl” (ポケットモンスター ダイヤモンド&パール) was distributed by Ensky.
Best wishes from Germany,
Martin

Not gonna lie, when I look at pics of these, they just look like condom wrappers to me

@fushigibana - Beautiful! I’m a huge fan of booster packs, I guess it’s something about them containing potential haha.
I also have a tendency to go for the slightly older stuff, I actually love the Carddass 1-2 sets (which I know may be perceived as lesser when compared to series 3-4, which are admittedly a little cooler).

I’d have to dive deeper on these, seeing your collection really inspired me, they are so pretty in that binder. Thank you for that :pray:t3:

@admiral - Haha could actually be a future collab :joy: (just kidding, please not ever haha)

Stunning

Hi there,

Would you mind telling me where you got the sleeve book that perfectly fit the amada stickers? I have been looking everywhere but can’t seem to find a good sleeve book. Thanks so much!!!

Feel free to start a new thread in the “Just A Question?” section next time, linking to the existing thread. Or you could PM the person directly.

Having said that, I’m pretty sure that binder is one of the official Amada sticker binders.
