New here based on a recommendation from elsewhere on the internet. Hear this is the place for expert advice on all things Pokemon card collecting.
I recently purchased a Raikou Gold Star, PSA 10 from a very reputable seller. However, when it arrived today I noticed there were ink blots, dots or specks - whatever you want to call them - on the label.
I’m not US based so sending to PSA for re-casing wouldn’t be easy. Equally I hope the card is legit and untampered, as I’m trying to complete the Unseen Forces collection and this was a rare find (though not the lowest pop gold star ever , I know).
@unseenforces20, It’s not tampered don’t worry about it. Some of my graded cards have it as well. Your label has a lot of those dots though, perhaps it happens when PSA refills the ink or something?
For your other questions:
Is it common? Sometimes it happens
Will it impact value? Probably not, it doesn’t bother me
Seems like there’s a lot of traction on other PSA slab flaws, like the common plastic bubbling, but this one seems rare?
The guy I bought this from is now concerned saying it might be bad storage, however everywhere else the consensus seems to be a printing variation.
Anyone have any pictures of this from their own collection?
I’m really on the fence about sending this back or not… if someone does have an image of another slab with the same issue, think it would put my mind at rest.
Within the first few slabs I looked at, I found spots like that on a 2x and a 42x cert I graded myself… that’s all I can say tbh. Nothing that makes me worry.
