Any idea how may pokemon have an ex/gx/full art card ?

I’ve been randomly buying for a couple months, and currently have a few hundred cards and about 50 unopened packs. I’m trying to figure out what direction I’ve wanted to go with my collecting. My first thought was to make sets, I still may go that route, but I did get to thinking.

I think it would be cool to collect a master pokedex using as many ex/gx/full art cards as possible. So I was curious if anyone knows how many pokemon have an ex/gx/full art card ? Or if there is a master list out there somewhere ? I know it’s not going to be every single one. So I’ll fill in with the next best thing. But then on the other hand an complete pokedex with all base cards would be cool to. I would also include the mega evolves and the alolan versions as well. With just over 800 pokemon I’m guessing this would probably be somewhere around 900-1000 cards by the time you add in all versions.

So would this be an interesting collecting goal ? I know it wouldn’t be easy but, but difficult can still be fun. Am I crazy.

Either way, its you who collects and makes you happy. I think that is an awesome idea! Even though I am a fan of the old stuff, I have been learning to appreciate more of the art today. You can even go in another direction, cuz you can most likely get every Pokemon in reverse holo. But thats just a guess. Not sure of a master list as people usually buy sets. Would love to see a full Pokedex of EX/GX/Full art but you most likely wouldnt get all the evolutions for each Pokemon.

Thanks.

The art is how I got started. I was playing Pokemon Go and wanted to learn more about each Pokemon , saw the cards, thought these look awesome and the rest is history. I like the reverse holo idea. Hey maybe just make a complete as possible Pokedex for each card style, in addition to my favorites binder.

Yes exactly, @murtaugh.

For anyone else who might be interested in GX cards, I just found this link. Looks like there is 101(if I counted correctly).

This is is going to be a fun set for me to build.

I think it should be a relatively easy and somewhat cheap set to build. I am about to open a ton of boxes, let me know if I can be of some help. I kind of planned on doing the same thing before you mentioned it but, if I have some extras too, ill hit you up.

EX also had FA.

There’s also Ancient Trait cards that are semi-FA and various XY promo’s that are FA (like Mew & Celebi from the Mythical Pin Collections)

This is what Poketrade is talking about in this post, I pulled a couple from the mythical pin collection, they threw me off, sorry they are upside down and I was to lazy to edit lol…

I personally think it’s an awesome collection goal to have your favorite artwork of every Pokémon in the National Index including their forms.

I personally just finished the complete National index. Was re-organizing my collection after buying a lot with 7k Japanese cards about a year ago. It turned out I had most of the Pokémon already. Was missing like 50 regular ones (including forms) and most of the Mega Pokémon.

In case you are going for it including every form, I’ve just posted a list of all Pokémons with multiple forms as well as which are and aren’t available as TCG cards.

Thank you everyone for the other links and suggestions. I’m really looking forward to building this set. I’m sure it’ll take awhile but that’s half the fun.
