I don’t play myself, but I watch other people play on twitch and youtube a bunch. I really enjoy watching decks other than ADP/Zacian/rapid Urshifu/boring meta slaves such as mad party, spiritomb, tapu koko, etc
PTCGO still feels “new” to me after I spent so much time on the beta… it’s probably been around ten years at this point. Prefer TCGone these days because it’s free and more no-nonsense.
Used to trade and flip a ton of the tcgo, now I just do that with real cards lol. It’s what pretty much got me back into the hobby
My favorite deck by far was deluge blastoise with keldeo. Ran that deck with the call of legends holo energies until the deck wasn’t playable anymore
I have been playing PTCGO since the beta and is the game I have consistently played the most over the past decade. Almost all of my favorite cards to play with are from the BW era: Eels, Empoleon, Dusknoir, Flygon. I still keep up with the current meta for Player’s Cup reasons, but I tend to not play the objectively best decks and I never play ADPZ. Orbeetle VMAX is my favorite standard deck to play at the moment.
Was really into it from 2016 - 2020 as testing practice but have fallen away from it with no in-person events happening.
The game is awesome and really self-sustaining as long as you play it consistently but it’s also really easy to get left behind if you don’t play for a couple of months (as a free-to-play player).
My favourite decks are toolboxes which have multiplay play-paths rather than just trying to repeat the same strategy most games. 1. Zoroark, 2. Mew3, 3. Mew counter box, probably my favourite in recent years.
Expanded mew3 box is one of my favorite decks I’ve ever built, there are so many different options in the deck, it’s made for some really interesting battles.
