Just wondering if anyone uses Noppin Japan to purchase cards? I’m growing more concerned lately as the Noppin website is non accessible and I have a few rare cards in storage that I’ve paid for plus I have two auctions that I’ve won that I need to pay for. If anyone has any info would be extremely helpful as I’m a little worried that I might have lost the cards that I’ve paid for
Thanks
Shaun
Thanks for the heads up when I search the website it doesn’t show me that message? It just shows a white screen saying unable to connect! But at least you have shed some clarity over the matter. Thanks again it’s neen truly helpful
I get this message as well. I still have one package incoming and nothing more I was bidding on or in their storehouse at the moment, but I do hope it will be back up soon. I use Noppin pretty often for auctions on YJ…
19th of April is only 3 days ago, so I’m sure they’ll be able to resolve it soon (I hope).
I remember there being a post which was basically a guide for using YJ for pokemon cards can someone link me to it? I want to start using YJ but it seems so daunting
Yeah, fingers crossed they can get this matter resolved soon. Missed out on a few auctions but I suppose everyone is in the same boat at the moment hopefully it’ll be bk sooner rather than later
Hi James,
I don’t have the link to the YJ discussion guide but there are a few middlemen services you can use to buy from Japanese auctions which are really reliable. I use two myself, Noppin and Buyee but I tend to use Noppin more frequently as they combine postage costs better if buying multiple items from the same seller.
When ever you use a middleman service always make sure you read the fees and what charges will get added on before you place your bid. Usually you should add an extra 500-750 yen on top of the total amount for charges if the item is under 5000yen then charges will increase on the total value of the item.
If you use Noppin you have to make a deposit (say 2000yen/$18.50) and that amount will be tripled (6000yen/$55.73) and this will be your maximum bid limit so if your after more expensive items then you will need to deposit more!
If you use Buyee then you do not need to make any deposits, the purchase amount will come directly from your PayPal account or from your debit/credit card. I tend to use Buyee for the more expensive cards as more often than not my deposit in Noppin won’t cover the card I’m bidding on. I usually use Noppin for more smaller items and multiple purchase items as they combine postage where Buyee don’t as I found out the hard way:pensive: I bought about 34 cards from the same seller on Buyee and they charged me postage on every card so my shipping cost to the UK was $194.67 for 34 cards .
Always just check everything before you commit and if you ever need any help in any way just ask and I’ll be more than happy to go over any concerns you have you can message me on insta as well if need be @eeveelution_empire
How are you searching for the cards you want I remember there being a list of the Japanese names of popular searches like Charizard, gold stars etc… can you link me to yahoo japan auctions for pokemon cards so I know I’m looking at the right place
