Came across these cards lately and not really sure whether they are genuine or not. The only way I can usually tell is to just put them next to a lamp and see if any light shines through, but they seemed fine there.
Can someone more enlightened than me help me out with this? I’m kinda a noob with all this as I would normally just buy graded, so my bad if I missed anything obvious.
Do they have texture? they should have that
The color of the back looks a little off but as long as they have the texturing on the front of the card you’ve got nothing to worry about
They look fine.
The “light test” isn’t reliable since different lamps have a range of brightness. Even bulbs of the same wattage can have varying intensity (rated on a Lumens scale).
Comparing the cards to known good cards and you’ll note differences —like maybe missing the black core paper seen on the edge. The card will feel more flexible as a result. For example, is it missing the FA textures (that I can’t tell from photo)? Note any red flags you see and go from there. Most fakes are relatively obvious.
