Quick question - is anyone familiar with the guarantees provided by auction houses on pokemon goods sold? to my understanding bidding on other stuff, they’ll refund sales of counterfeit items.
for example, im eyeing the 1st ed base set box on heritage auctions, but wonder what would be the implications if it turns out to be fake and i only find out later.
Item authenticity is guaranteed. Ensure the following sgpokecollect:
Ask for detailed images of the item BEFORE shipping. This is known as a full condition report. If you are declaring the full amount, this can be used for insurance claims in cases of the item coming in with huge dents or comes opened.
Before opening your package, record everything from beginning until you perform a record of the condition of the item from all angles. Should there be any discrepancies you can use the video as proof.
I think as many of our collections become more expensive, more people may explore going the route of auction houses or at least PWCC. The guarantee is a huge deal for me, if I ever were to sell an item that is of high value. eBay is fine for smaller exchanges, say below 10k, but I’d be bit hesitant to deal in larger transactions.
sounds like you are going after the base box? it’s a great time to grab one
