Best Japanese promos list

Hello everyone,

It occurred to me that I lack a knowledge of well known and also under appreciated Japanese promos. I would like to start collecting several like grand party trainer and some vending ones, but any insight into ones that you all favor could inspire/give me ideas on what would be good for my collection. I am big on art as well so don’t shy away because price is too little… or too much. Putting them in list form would be real nice. Thanks

For a real great list of the older and more niche promos listed in order of release. Check the “Unnumbered Promos” tab on the bubapedia link under “U”. Specifically the 1996-2005…

Those are some of the oldest and best promos like Grand Party, Masaki and TMB cards. Also includes the real niche ones like “Gotta Mew”, “Gotta Pikachu” and the Champion Road Neo starters.

The /PLAY! Promos are my favourite set of promos:

These are closely followed by the /L-P set:

If anyone is looking to collect either set though I wouldnt expect to complete either set due to certain Umbreon and Espeon cards.

I personally like the promos that sponsor the old back design, basically 1996-2000, but Grand Party, GB promos and ANA airlines are really cool.

I kind of consider the intro theme decks to be promos too sort of, so the quick starter theme deck holos are a fave of mine as well.
