Can anyone recommend easy to use websites for someone new to Yu-Gi-Oh and MTG who is looking to learn and that has easy to find set lists like Bulbapedia for Pokémon.
Also any YouTubers that give good informational videos (not looking for pack openings)
Can you be more specific what you are looking for for Yugioh? Are you looking to play or collect? Modern or time wizard formats? Are you looking to literally learn the basics?
Mostly for identifying cards, learning about the rarities and values. I’ve recently started as a valuer in a auction house and they deal with all sorts not just Pokemon so I need to try and get my knowledge up to scratch on these areas
For MTG, Scryfall is a great one to see lots of good pics of cards and get some idea of pricing… although it’s not always reflective of the market 100%. Some cards don’t go up for sale that often (i.e. certain Alpha Rares) and so you really have to take a bit of time to learn the prices of some cards.
Another option is to just look at Buylists from various LGSs like Cardkingdom or StarCityGames or what they are selling cards for. Usually they’re above average market prices, but most of the time they are within 10-20% of what most cards would sell for at auction in my experience.
Some other good resources for MTG Finance and other info would be these:
IDK where it is on here but I believe it was Quador who made an extensive rarity guide that is really good. The issue with Yugioh is that the cards are very nuanced and it is not an easy 3 step learning process identifying cards. Yugiohtube does a decent job with his videos. In terms of value, obviously raw singles use TCGplayer but sealed and graded, you are basically reliant on ebay.
No idea if you’re looking for MTG decklists, but a few great resources for that are TappedOut.net and Moxfield.com. The most popular format currently is commander or EDH, and a “one-stop-shop” for all things EDH is edhrec.com.
