So I’m going to have about 30 cards ready for grading.
I wanted to know is there a company like Ludkins that submits to BGS?? That ways I can get a bulk discount.
What do the timelines look like for BGS? For PSA bulk rates, I’m aware it’s 10-12 months. For gold tier about 7-8 months. Is BGS similar?
Also, if someone does regular submissions to BGS, would also love to know how the market is for you guys in terms of selling and do you almost see an equal sales value as compared to PSA?
Service Levels Current Turnaround Times
Premium(2-Day) Submissions Approximately 5-10+ Business Days
Express(5-Day) Submissions Approximately 10-15+ Business Days
Standard(10-Day) Submissions Approximately 12+ Weeks
Standard(20-Day) Gaming Approximately 3+ months
Economy(30-Day) Submissions Approximately 5-6+ months
Economy(60-Day) Gaming Approximately 5-6+ months
I have only submitted to BGS once. I sent in a 20-day sub of about 50 cards beginning of September and they are yet to be registered. 3 months would be an optimistic estimate for 20-day based off of my experience. Anyone else do a 20-day submission recently?
Not many people on here submit to BGS. If individuals on here submit to Beckett on here they usually do it themselves I believe.
Most people only really send via Ludkins US & Ludkins UK to PSA only and Ludkins USA send to PSA & CGC on here. Or other PSA middlemen like Graded Gem to PSA.
I don’t know where you live in the word, but I can recommend a middleman in Australia called Cherry Collectables a card shop in Melbourne who sends submissions to Beckett on a monthly basis.
I am guessing there are other card shops & dealers around the world who also offer a middleman service and send to Beckett. You may have to look for card shops in your country that provide that service.
Estimated times provided by modestmudkip are the current estimated turnaround times for Beckett.
Thank you for the detailed info on this comment and the above. I’m certainly on the other side of the world in Canada. So sending to Australia is a no go haha. And seeing the timeless are the same as PSA, actually worse I believe with what I’m seeing above, I would just stick with Ludkins/PSA I guess. I was only looking at BGS seeing how backlogged PSA is. CGC is an option but it is a tougher grade and I would just be losing grades + value. PSA it is.
It was $30 per card. I definitely regret choosing BGS at this point. If the only reason your considering them is faster turnaround then I would agree that PSA is a better (and cheaper) option.
May I ask why you regret it? Was it because of the turnaround time as well? Or just what grades you got and you expected higher grades or less value while selling?
The only reason I chose them for most the cards I was sending in was because at the time they had a faster turn-around time, and they are more expensive if your not sending in higher end cards. There were still a few cards that I would have sent regardless but I added a bunch of cards that I was planning on sending to PSA to my BGS submission to get the 50 card discount figuring it would also be faster.
BGS recently raised their rates and their turnaround times are as bad, if not worse than PSAs. Somehow they’ve managed to offer a worse service than PSA
I thought I would provide an update as this morning my cards were finally registered. They got delivered to bgs the first week of September, so it took about 2.5 months for them to start the grading process (20 day sub). I’ll update again when I receive the grades. You probably already submitted your cards, but hopefully this information is helpful. This is just my personal experience. I know someone else who got their cards back in about 2 months total.
