Have a BGS standard sub that arrived via UPS on the 16th, but am yet to receive a “we have your cards email”.
My rep says they are having a super high volume of submissions at the moment and, unlike PSA, you only get the received email AFTER they log your cards.
Yes BGS have gotten better but they are still quite vintage with their technology.
I’m sure the cards are fine as they were signed for, just curious if anyone else has subbed recently and had any delays?
Tia!
Update, finally invoiced. Took over a week since arrival at BGS.

I middled a sub for a friend and the grades were ready but it took a month to encapuslate and ship. Idk what BGS is doing but they are run very poorly

It is strange - I heard something similar (was it for an English lad called James by chance?) haha.
Anyway, if it wasn’t - my friend had the exact same issue as yours.
I wonder what is going on. My rep said that they have had a “very high” level of orders recently, which is sort of verified by Gem Rate…but again it is peanuts compared to PSA and even CGC now.
My hope is that they are putting in plans to update their grading scale etc so have slowed down orders in order to change their systems, but it likely wont be the case.
bgs is slow at every moment

Factually incorrect - I’ve subbed with them many times in the last two years and the submissions have always been faster than expected.
Other people with the same experience.
BAS, is a different story - but stayed within the eta.

ive only done 2 subs in the last 6 months or so.
One arrived 6/7/24 - shipped back 8/20/24 base tier
next arrived 8/28/24 - graded 9/16 (not shipped back yet) base tier
not sure how helpful that data is

Yeah it’s different departments and BAS is super old school.
Sadly they only give the “we have your cards” email when the sub is invoiced (aka cards logged into the system, which is done manually). So this can take some time especially at BAS.
PLUS if you sent in a BAS sub on a card you also wanted graded, and selected the slowest tier - that adds another 15 business days into the submission.
So sadly yeah, not really surprised but BGS orders are usually much faster and you get better Comms (but not nearly as much as PSA).
Those actually sound quite reasonable!
I don’t have high expectations for the low tier at any company so 1.5 months is fine with me

Let me put to you like this; I worked physically next door to BGS, meaning, I could see them from my office window, and they were still notoriously slow. It made no difference that I was their neighbor.
They will reply when they want to reply. Inconsistent answers on emails, etc
Happy that you got your invoice though.

Imagine the grader seeing you looking at them from your office window and just deciding to go 3x slower because of it.

Sounds like you don’t have a rep - they are super fast at sorting stuff out and I have their direct line.
And yes, thanks - was a worry for a minute!

I did have a rep. That’s the worst part of it. Glad to see things are better!
