booster pack recasing

Wanted to ask if anyone had color on psa’s policy with regard to recasing old booster pack cases?

Would they recase them with the same grade, or downgrade them given the plastic is bent

If it’s re-encased and they determined that it no longer meets the given grade due to the bends, they will reimburse the difference.

wow that’s pretty amazing? like if a psa 9 and psa 10 booster has a price difference of say 4k usd, they’ll reimburse 4k?

Why not reach out to PSA and ask them

Is this an official statement from PSA or where’s that info from?

To clarify: the re-encasement process is separate from the guarantee program. You would need to send the pack in through the grade guarantee program if you want to have the pack condition to be evaluated. If while there they agree that the pack no longer meets the original grade, then you’d be entitled to the compensation. The pack will be re-encased with the new label and either purchased from you for the value you paid or shipped back with compensation for the grade value depreciation.

Not all packs with folded seams are considered damaged. So it’s dependent upon the pack, the reviewer and whether they agree that it merits a lower grade. The grade guarantee does not apply if you are the origin submitter.

I wouldnt risk to recase if you got a 10

In theory. In reality, you have to wait months and they will fight and low ball you every step of the way. Seriously not worth it
