How “guaranteed” are the types of boosters you’ll find in any given tin? Say, for example, a Swampert EX tin is suppose to contain four XY Roaring Skies boosters-- will it always only be Roaring Skies? Does this vary if I buy a tin in another language?
To cut to the chase, there are a bunch of sealed, XY-era Russian language tins on eBay right now but none of them are said to contain XY base set packs…and I’m still looking for that white winged Vivillon. Is there a chance they might have XY base set boosters inside anyway?
I don’t know how it works for foreign cards, but English cards have definitely had newer packs repacked into older style tins from time to time. I can’t name a specific product, but I was definitely disappointed a couple years ago ordering several cases of tins chasing the roaring skies packs in them to find that they swapped them out for breakthrough or breakpoint or something.
I guess it depends where you buy them, however I thought tins had set booster packs. They seem to over here in the UK, say you buy tins from Tesco…you will receive the set booster pack types. We don’t really have the silly re pack crap y’all get over in the US etc. Some collection boxes second run or whatever can have varying booster packs but tins…I have never had one that wasn’t set in its contents.
I have always known tins to have a varying set of packs. For example a ‘sceptile’ tin may have 2 primal clash, 1 roaring skies, 1 furious fist OR it may have 2 furious fist, 1 primal clash, and 1 roaring skies. I believe it depends on when the tin was packaged (some get packaged right at first release, then they may package others months or even a year later) and what tcpi has available.
