Breaking the Matchprint out?

I’m probably overthinking this but I’m considering breaking out the green label PSA slab encapsulating my Charmeleon Matchprint. I’m not planning to sell anytime soon so I’m not in a rush but it feels like a card that deserves to be authenticated and slabbed at BGS and I would feel better. Other recent ones that are listed or have sold have been authenticated by BGS or CGC. I don’t doubt its authenticity as it has a direct trace back to Rusty and I’m 1 of 3 owners. Just something about the custom slab seems to give off not so good vibes.

There’s no going back though as PSA wouldn’t touch this again (unless something has changed) so I thought I’d ask others their thoughts.

If you’re worried about future resale, I would send it to CGC. If you plan to never sell it, keep it as is in your collection.

Technically the CGC ones won’t look like that anymore haha

To the OPs question, def crack and send to CGC. That label saying custom encap makes it seem super bootleg and inauthentic imo

Honestly the green is cool and the green matchprints are kind of historic and can’t be replicated. I would leave it.

Thanks for sharing the other green labels! I thought mine was the only one - at least the only matchprint green. Now I feel better.

I vote to keep it in the green holder, it’s cool and they aren’t coming back. I would personally pay a premium for something like this in an older holder, but I’m a weirdo
