Can't tell if this box is re-sealed or not

I bought this Pokemon Platinum Arceus box before the Pokemon boom and was thinking about selling it now. After examining it now, it seems to be generally in alright condition except for the fact I see a small hole near the seal, does this mean it is re-sealed?
This was pre-boom so if it does happen to be re-sealed it won’t hurt as much.

I would be surprised if it was actually resealed based on just that tear.

Unfortunately it’ll probably make it harder to sell though :upside_down_face:

A torn seal is definitely a dealbreaker for some, but not all. Perhaps an alternative route is to crack the box, open a pack to be certain it’s legit, then sell the packs inside (maybe do a video and tamper seal them?). You’ll of course lose your sealed box premium, but it’s a safer option.

A tear is not a big deal. 99% of the sealed buyers market is whatnot rippers anyway. They won’t care.

This. It´s not a big tear, like a cut. Just a small tear that isn´t associated with resealing (I think).

If you’re feeling too unsure OP, this is a good way to go. It’s a bit of effort but it gives added provenance to your packs. It gives buyers more confidence and they are more likely to pay a slight premium versus buying individual packs which have no provenance. I did exactly this during the 2020-21 boom. Instagram live, opened a base set booster box which had a slight dent, put each booster onto a card saver, put that into a team bag, sealed it with a uniquely-numbered security label, referenced the video in the eBay booster pack listings and provided timestamp for when each booster was taken from the box and security-labelled. All 36 packs sold within 2 weeks, with no bad buyers. (This may have just been luck though).
