Cards related to New York Pokémon Center

I am trying to build a mini set of cards dedicated to NY Pokémon Center before it closed down (was renamed) in 2005.

So far, I have identified the following cards:

  • Black Star Promo #40 (Pokémon Center, New York Pokémon Center Opening, November 2001)
  • Black Star Promo #41 (Lucky Stadium, New York Pokémon Center Opening, November 2001)
  • Black Star Promo #51 (Rapidash, Stamped -“Pokémon Center NY”, November 2002)
  • Black Star Promo #51 (Ho-Oh, Stamped*- “Pokémon Center NY”*, November 2002)
  • P Promo 019/P (Pokémon Center Tokyo, Pokémon Center Tokyo: New York Pokémon Center opening commemoration, January 2002)
  • P Promo 020/P (Pokémon Center Osaka, Pokémon Center Osaka: New York Pokémon Center opening commemoration, January 2002)

Are there any other cards that are missing in the list? :blush:

I think you indeed have all of them. The only other cards related to New York are the New York Press Conference Sample cards from August 2002 (which did took place at the New York Pokémon Center) and the New York '08 stamped Turtwig from the 2008 USA Pokémon distributor meeting. Neither the Sample set nor stamped distributor promos are official releases, though. So I personally wouldn’t count them towards your list.

And since we’re talking about the New York Pokémon Center now anyway, I was reminded by this amazing Pokémon Magical Clock a few days ago, which was exclusively sold at the NY Pokémon Center iirc. I know it’s not a card, but it’s an amazing item I figured I’d share since I saw it again a few days ago and some might not seen it before. :blush:

Anyway, your list of six cards seems to be complete for the NY Pokémon Center TCG releases, so best of luck collecting this little set. :blush:

Someone on here or the discord actually bought that clock. It’s pretty amazing playing tunes from gen 2.

The WOTC black star promo #40 Pokemon center is a HOLY GRAIL of mine. Back in October 2021, I ran into a LP/MP copy at my LGS for $400, (picture attached), but ultimately decided I would chase down a PSA graded copy.
