Is anyone going to be vending or attending the collect a con in Chicago this coming weekend?
Curious how it compares to Orlando, Kansas, or Houston

I hope vendors are open to non graded cards. I will of course be bringing slabs with me, but if I see a big card that I want like GS Rayquaza, I will be forced to trade some non slabbed cards like Shining Charizard and GS zard, which are minty. If they quote me tcg player “nm” prices, which are usually psa 6s and 7s, I will have a really bad day with my vintage singles that are likely 9s
should be a nice show though, I heard a lot of the big hitter vendors will be attending

I am a binder collector and from personal experience most vendors are looking for graded cards since it is very efficient to check comps and set prices. I also had a very hard time making some trade deals because I only had ungraded cards.
Unfortunately that is the issue with ungraded cards. Condition is still subjective and when it comes to making a deal your 9 maybe some vendors 8. Also if you truly value your cards at a certain condition it will be hard to budge to someone else valuation since you think that the cards should be valued a certain way.
But I truly hope you can find some good deals and hope that vendors at a big convention are more open to consider a mint condition and value them accordingly. Wish you a good time there.
