Chinese/Japanese Pokemon rock/paper/scissor tokens?

Hey all, I came across these on a facebook group and managed to buy some. I’m not sure if they are real or fake but I was very curious what they were. I believe they are some sort of game of rock, paper, scissors but I cant find anymore information on them. Any ideas?

@zhongwen

Well, they’re Chinese, and written in traditional characters, which implies they’re from HK/Taiwan, which subsequently also implies they’re legit.

Emphasis on ‘implies’ here. Interesting find!

Thank you :blush: need to find more very curious about them x

I asked my friends in Taiwan and HK and they didn’t know anything about them - sorry!

Hi there,

I asked my HK girlfriend to translate.

She basically says, reading from the top clockwise, it starts with the pokemon name, then the total defense points, then total attack points, then it’s game worth point. She thinks it is just like the tcg battling, but with coins.

I personally don’t know what to think about these, there is no Bandai logo, or licensed logo on them to show me that it was a licensed released. Nontheless, definitely an awesome find, and something quite peculiar. I still don’t know what to do with those hand symbols and dice.

There is so much we don’t know about the Pokémon franchise in certain territories. I’ve been spoiled by the Internet to assume we should know more about these types of things.

Thank you :blush: I’m not sure what they are but as a coin collector I was intrigued I found one coin on google but trying to find more.

The only thing I have found is this image. blog.roodo.com/vvv6toma/archives/2011-05.html cant seem to dig much more than that x

Are they perhaps just a Chinese variant of the battling coin game?

Very possible as there was also a French version of the game.

The quality of the character art on these looks a bit shoddy. I suspect these are knockoffs, though I have no proof one way or another.
