I got offered this stack of gold stars including rayquaza and zard for my set of 9 topps johto series 1 holograms, felt quite crazy but didn’t want to part with them

What is the history of your topps hologram set?

It’s just a very scarce set of chase cards, the set was short printed and there were only one hologram per box. Also they were sold in US only while earlier topps releases were sold world wide. Unlike topps chrome cards that are sturdier these are like all other earlier topps releases that get damaged more easily with their sharp corners so odds of them making it to this day are lower than with chrome cards. Also the holo pattern is just beautiful so they are overall very iconic cards amongst topps collectors

This was from last year, but a $3000 offer for my PSA 10 Dream League Clefairy Lillie promo. I accepted. Now looking to rebuy it for under $300. That was just insane. It ended up being the highest price one sold for on eBay I think.

Ill bring it back down to earth for a second i recently was offered 150 USD for my staff pichu and thats probably the most anyones offered me out of the blue for one of my cards. I can’t part with him. I paid $18 US for it and it was a whole pure luck thing.

Last year I had an offer of 10k CAD that got auto declined for my PSA 9 Alola Friends (Setting on best offers).
I would have definitely accepted if it went through.
I later sold it on auction for 6k CAD.
The same card is worth 1.8k CAD today.

what card was that for?
During ~10 years I haven’t sold stuff too often yet on old forum I was approached many times especially about some booster boxes, however one of the most memorable offers was $30k for PSA 10 1st ed. Neo Genesis Slowking 14/111.
Surely there’s lots of stuff I could’ve obtained after sale but ended up holding the card, doesn’t make any sense to break set which is (still) missing one card.
