Custom Woodworking for Display Cases

It seems like all cases have a standard square/rectangle shape that’s either 5x5, 3x3, 4x5, etc. Many Pokemon card sets do not end in a number that allows for a symmetrical display. Most of us try to stick to holos for graded cards or even loose cards. Off the top of my head, we have 16, 15, 16, 19, and so forth as the holo count for earlier sets.

My question is has anybody looked into custom display cases better suited to show off these sets? We’ve talked at length in regards to what’s already out there, but not custom cases. If the time/extra money was taken, there could be unique designs or artwork for the wood.

I’ve also thought about “layered cases”, where one case would display 1st, shadowless, unlimited, & 4th print all in one. This would be a 4x4 set up (16 cards in the base set) with each row comprised of a “bleacher” setup where each set is staggered. The height between sets would be the height of a PSA label. If we consider that distance to be x, then x would also be the left-to-right stagger as well. I hope this makes sense.

There are 2 to 3 other sets I collect duplicates of and would consider a similar “layered case” to showcase each completion in one case.

I’ll upload a picture at some point to explain a bit better.

Anyhow, there are enough PSA collectors here that the design alone would prove to be helpful.

I would find someone with a 3D printer or laser engraving machine for wood or metal. Could definitely have some custom artwork then. If you have some basic power tools you could build it yourself and hire someone to do the engraving.

Interesting idea, let me know what you find out.
