Detective Pikachu Plushes

Yesterday I went to Target and someone had put these plushes out early. I honestly kind of found them a bit terrifying so I thought I’d share! They are super bendable which is cool, but Mr. Mime haunts my dreams now. Anyways, I’m still super excited for the movie and I love seeing the new toys on the shelf!

I am definitely picking up the large Detective Pikachu plush. It retails for 29.99 but I think it’s probably the softest Pokemon plush I’ve ever felt in my life.

I saw a Psyduck at Target today and it was also pretttttty soft I must say (and not as horrifying looking as you’d suspect)

Yeah, the small plushies that come in the shipper all seem pretty normal compared to the larger Mr. Mime and Mewtwo plushes. I thought Ludicolo was actually kind of nice, and Snubull very much reminded me of plushes that were made when I was little. It was the darker color, material, and eyes that made me want it, even if I don’t care much for Snubull itself.

Interesting though I feel these plushies don’t distinguish from Detective Pikachu or do they? I have not watched the movie but…

Who is the maker ? Did Hasbro get their hands on English plushes again x.x not good if it is them.

These look like some of the very very vintage dolls from the 90s in Japan, with plastic eyes. Feels poor and cheap. Their quality on plushes has gone down the last 6 months…
Even in Japan, as they are producing in phillipines now sometimes.

I noticed this too! Usually if I want a plushie I’ll get it from the Pokemon Center website (or if it’s Japanese exclusive then through a middleman, but still originating at the Pokemon Center). They do lately have a quality discrepancy between ones I’ve had for years.
