So we know (reasonably) that during the E-reader era there was not only a dip in demand, but also in the supply of pokemon sealed product from WOTC. Do we know if a similar situation occurred in Japan? Mysterious Mountain packs are significantly more expensive than Japanese Neo or Base packs, but is this because there were fewer print runs or are the prices just inflated because of the skyridge boom? I know there is probably very little information on just how much supply is out there for Japanese ereader sets, but I figured if anyone would know it would be you guys! I mainly want to know if pokemon cards less popular in Japan during the ereader era like they were here?
Imo it’s about the rarest cards in the set and MM has crystals and as English crystal and shining cards continue to climb out of reach for most, many are opting for Japanese versions.
I did the same for PSA 10 Crystal Luigia. English Aquapolis Crystal Lugia is $1000 and Japanese Wind from the Sea Crystal Lugia is $300
e reader is tough to find now in japan… especially sealed boxes… as well as adv / ex era.
i think yeah, anything between, e series - dp era was pretty rough.
as far as other merchandise goes, some of the rarest plushes and toys, and products are from dp era… as that was not a very popular time for pokemon, so things we’re not produced so much.
Oh that’s interesting. Do you have info on the pull rate differences between Japanese ereader sets vs the English ereader sets?
I can’t remember… but one e series box in Japan contains 40 packs.
Ive only broken a few packs. And it’s not a Holo per pack like the older sets. So it was quite difficult to get holos and crystals.
It’s either 1 or 2 crystals per box…but I can’t remember exactly… someone else will know the answer
