As a group of people who spend most of their time thinking about and engaging with Pokemon, you’d think we dream about it frequently. However, personally, I dont think ive ever had dreams about it-- if i have, its so rare an occurence that i cant even recall it. Do you dream about Pokemon?
The reason im making this post is because i actually did have my first Pokemon dream last night and even further, it was a dream about the tcg. I swear to god, i dreamt i pulled a thin stamp base set charizard from a pack. Seems like a super basic pokemon card dream-- im not even a huge base set charizard kinda guy. It was genuinely an awesome dream, i felt like a kid again opening cards, even had the butterflies in my stomach and everything
Does daydreaming count? The worldbuilding that GameFreak can sometimes lack is perfect fodder for headcanons, imagining adventures with your favorite Pokemon and your friends, unique ways to battle other trainers by using the environment around you or using moves in unorthodox ways, and just general escapism if you’re bored and have nothing super important to do with your time. I have plenty of that as a uni student honestly but in general these days the idea of Pokemon is more fun of a topic rather than actually engaging with the franchise.
Happens a lot when I’m hiking, just today my friend cracked a joke that the mountain we were on was really just an ancient Torterra, so take that as you will.
I haven’t dreamt about Pokemon in a while, but when I do, it’s actually a sign for me to take a step back. I can get a bit obsessive, and dreams are an indictor that I’m going down that path.
I have had several dreams over the recent years in which I either find insanely great deals or vintage packs stored away in a basement of some house which isn’t mine, but is supposed to be.
I remember in one dream I was in a European store and found a bunch of CP6 boxes for retail or something like that. Another time, I found Pokemon crystal packs - which were purple and my brain made them up entirely. No matter the dream, I always wake up disappointed.
Some of my best dreams of been about pokemon. But its usually a fantasy dream and definately not about the tcg. Its more about catching pokemon and living with them lmfao. Kind of weird but yeh…
Similar to others here, I’ve had dreams of stumbling upon cards in the wild. The interesting thing is theyre never real cards. I can remember vividly seeing the cards and its entirely new card art (and often new pokemon) but they seem familiar to me in my dreams. My minds like an ai image generator and I remember from my dreams the art on these wholly original cards actually looks really cool. I wish I could remember them well enough to draw them but alas its all very fuzzy after waking up.
