Do you still watch Pokemon?

I was thinking about potentially watching Pokemon, but I haven’t watched anything since Indigo League.

Do you still watch Pokemon and if so, is it worth it?

Where should I start, if anywhere.

I wouldn’t say still watch, but I rewatched the Indigo League recently and loved it. It’s what I grew up with, so was insanely nostalgic as much as looking at cards is.

The only series I ever finished was Origins, which was 4 minutes long and covered the original Red and Blue video game.

Sun and Moon series was super fun to watch. Animation was great as well.

and the new show on Netflix I’d recommend.

Actually sword and shield is not as bad as the XY series. I’m AXTUALLY watching Indigo League Ep.39 with my kids as we speak. I love the characteristics and merit of Ash, Misty and Brock from the old school episodes, I can rewatch over and over. I would rewatch since the beginning if I were you! Watch Pokémon ORIGINS while you’re at it too.

Just watched several episodes of the latest Netflix series with my 6y.o.

My 5 y.o. loves the show. There’s a pokemon app with basically every show for free and I think he may have watched every episode. I’ve watched a ton with him including all of the new netflix episodes. I’m a huge fan overall. The production value of the new netflix series is pretty high

I enjoy Journeys more than last season (Sun & Moon). Seems to be more in line with the original feel than Sun & Moon.

One very cool series I think every Pokémon fan should check out is Twilight Wings. It’s a mini-series and each episode is only a few minutes long. The story telling is exceptional. I also enjoy the animation. Hope they do this more in the future.

You can watch everything on the Pokémon TV app for free.

I second this recommendation. This series really lends a fresh and nuanced perspective on some of the characters in Sword and Shield. All of the episodes are also uploaded to the Pokemon Youtube Channel. This is the link to episode 1 for anyone who is interested:

Like @nickofturl, mentioned, the Pokemon Twilight mini series is really refreshing watch. Its lets you know motivations of certain characters from Sword and Shield.

I saw 5 eps of Pokemon Journey and I enjoyed it. I think the new secondary protagonist is very well done and compliments Ash very well. Its basically like a buddy road trip through all the regions so I am hoping its filled with nostalgia and revisiting old characters. I also feel its more story driven rather than just Pokemon battles but I have only seen few episodes.

Cheers!

Yep i keep up with it on the pokemon tv app

Pokémon twilight animation is mighty reminiscent to digimon

I haven’t religiously watch the anime since Gen 6 which is probably the best the anime has been in a long time. I started watching the new Netflix series yesterday (got up to episode 6) and so far its actually really good. I hated the sun and moon anime and the art style they used, so it was great to actually start watching the anime again. The only generations where I thought the anime was completely awful was Black and white, and Sun&Moon.

What is the new netflix series people are talking about? ive had a look but don’t think it’s available in my country.

Pokemon journeys, The first episode is on youtube.

Yes. But Sun & Moon Ultra Legends is complete garbage.

Yes. I’ve watched all 1000+ episodes, all 20+ movies, and the 50+ specials I was able to find online, haha. And I currently watch the new Pokémon 2019 in Japanese every few weeks after some new episodes have been released.

I watch a lot of Japanese anime in general, though. I think I’ve finished over 125 different amines thus far. (Most are 12 or 24 episodes instead of 1k though, rofl. I’ve only finished about five anime with more than 100 episodes across all their seasons.)
