let me know your thoughts I was hoping for a 9 as I have 9s with more whitening and scratching. i have never sent in a card with a like a line like that going thru it like that. this is my first time seeing that and I’m not really sure how Psa views it maybe some of you guys have more experience in regards to this. I am not talking about the scratch/print line I am talking about what almost looks to be an indent line, you can see it the most in the fourth and fifth pic.
Tough call. I would personally give it a low 8, but that’s because I don’t think the indent is that big of a deal. It looks like a factory defect, which is pretty forgivable in my opinion. The biggest concern to me is the edge wear on the back of the card.
Op, I have mixed thoughts on your cards. It looks like a 8, but that line looks like quite the indent… which should probably be insta PSA 6 from what I’ve been hearing here.
I actually have a ‘Mint’ Blastoise, I legit thought it was a 10 contender until I noticed it had a very slight dent on the back middle of the card. I should probably show you guys this weekend. It’s only Unlimited and I paid $20 something so it’s not a big deal either way as I’m using it as part of a holo set rather than bother sending it in to PSA.
That looks like more than the usual minor print line/scratch. I know some of you guys say it’s a factory defect, but I’d probably give the card 8 even if it didn’t have that… I guess it depends how deep it is.
That just looks like the uneven/cloud-like coloring on the card to me.
As for what the card’s grade is, that’s clearly factory considering it goes perfectly horizontal across the card. As it’s not damage and just part of the card’s integrity (while still taking it into account) I think 8 is fair.
The fact that it’s so exactly horizontal across the card makes me doubt it’s not factory. Obviously it’s possible but when that thing isn’t in the slot on the printing machine there’s a one in a million chance of something lining up and pressing evenly like that.
I thought indents like this were automatic 6s? If that is not the case i have plenty of cards with far smaller indents I can now consider sending as before i thought all was lost in terms of grading them!
