E Readers Card Centering

Hello!
Can you tell me how to determine the correct centering for E-Reader Cards?
We can’t do the standard TB - RL equation, because we only have TR. (For the front)

How PSA and BGS determine the centering?

Many thanks in advance

PSA genuinly doesn’t give a fuck about front centering on e reader cards.

I’ve measured myself in the past by comparing against official Pokémon e-reader scan examples and seeing how much % off any border is compared to the official template. If you just want to eyeball, you can look at the thickness of the top right corner (top border - right & right border - top)

They’re generally better centered compared to the template than other cards. I rarely see OC e-readers. So the vast majority are within PSA 10 centering parameters. BGS and CGC do have stricter centering parameters so it’s not uncommon to get 9.5 and occasionally 9 e-reader centering (BGS 9 centering guidelines are still within PSA 10 definition due to different centering scales)

My sample size is tiny and almost exclusively Japanese (although that shouldn’t matter), but I do have a fair bit of variance within the nine PSA 10 e reader cards in my possession. Here are two pretty significant examples:

In any case I wouldn’t mind if PSA was being less harsh on those cards. Centering is my least concern when it comes to condition factors and the e reader cards by design balance out off-centering really well.

Mm yeah. I’ve seen more border variance on Web then regular e-series sets. I think the line borders (top and right) are thicker in the template than Expedition style though have to check. That Moltres is pushing it haha.

Edit - I just realized also I was envisioning Expedition style trainers for your post in my mind. Which are even worse and tricky. For Pokémon the measuring should be easier since you have two full straight borders.

Yeah I just checked. For trainers like below, I compare to example templates. For Pokémon, the example template for VS, Web, and E-series should have correct proportions for the top and right border, so you can compare to those. I’m actually curious myself about the exact proper dimensions as I haven’t bothered outside of trainers.

@muk, @qwachansey, many thanks for your advices

OC eReader cards do exist… Unfortunately my Charizard, which is currently at PSA, suffers from a little too much on the top. Apologies for the poor quality photo.
