E4 Halloween Murder Mystery - [CONFESSIONS BEGIN 11/8]

Happy Halloween my fellow Pokémon enthusiast. In the spirt of this holiday that celebrates the dead… I present you with a murder mystery. It is up to you the E4 community to discover whodunit and bring the killer or killers to justice. The suspects themselves do not know if they are the killer. I will be your host for the duration of the event. I will introduce the Scenario for each round and will be able to answer any general questions or provide guidance in playing the game.

How to play the Game
There are six rounds. Each round provides new clues to further the game play. You the community needs to ask questions to get more clues. Post the questions in this thread use @ to address a specific suspect or the clues that the suspect has dropped. At the end of Round 5 all players will be given an opportunity to solve the crime or crimes.
Round 1- Introductions
Round 2- The Search
Round 3 - The Discovery
Round 4- The Examination
Round 5 -The Final Clues
Whodunit Poll
Round 6- The Revelation/Confession

The winner of the game is the person whose accusation most closely matches the actual solution to the mystery revealed in Round 6

The mystery begins now! The Game is Afoot! Good Luck!

The Scenario:
One year ago, Professor Oak attended Collect-A- Con. Six months later he was dead- leaving no trace as to the location of his prized Pokémon card collection. On a summer evening during the Pokémon World Championships, SmPratte invited some people to a special E4 gathering. Perhaps someone had heard something? Perhaps someone knew something about Professor Oak’s death? Perhaps one of them was a cold-blooded killer.

@Dyl
A SGC Grader from NY who arrived unannounced with plans to buy Pratt’s collection and cross it over, putting SGC over the top as the best Pokémon grading company. He was willing to obtain the collection at any cost.

@Stagecoach
After suffering a nervous breakdown, the well known Poké-tuber decided to attend the Pokémon World Championship to be distracted from reality and relax. … but his suite was next door to Smpratte and those other E4 nerds instead.

@Will
A young Crypto investor that wandered into Collect-A-Con last year just as Professor Oak was showing off some of his prized Pokémon cards. Smpratte took a liking to him and encouraged him to join E4 and be involved with the Pokémon community. He has been an active member ever since. Moderating the community among other things.

@TCGMaine (Grandma Pratte)
Estranged family member who decided to drop by uninvited while traveling on vacation with her husband.

@brendantheclayboy
A Pokémon Distributor from NJ married to Grandma. Brendan once had a complete collection of all Wizards of the Coast cards, but he gave them all to Goodwill when Grandma moved in. Grandma tore up his World’s Promos the night they were married. She could not stand the sight of them. He has been trying to salvage his marriage and find a new collection by traveling as close to every Pokémon venue he could find.

@PFM
Best friend of Smpratte, secret editor for Bulbapedia, has a flair for the eccentric. Lives down the road with 15 rabbits and loves true crime- especially the mysterious unsolved death of PO.

Which of these people has a secret worth killing for?

Ha ha . That is very interesting,

Did Grandma and Oak know each other?

Scenario is misspelled here

The Senerio:
One year ago, Professor Oak attended Collect-A- Con. Six months later he was dead- leaving no trace as to the location of his prized Pokémon card collection.

Unless that’s a hint in itself !!!
More seriously, I’m looking forward to seeing this unfold.

Thank you for your astute observation. Yeah these kind of details are not my thing.:joy:

Ah. Professor Oak had the most complete and unique collection in all of Pokémon. As a professor and teacher, he was able to collect Pokémon from trainers from many generations across all regions and from all languages ! WOTC could only dream of what he had as a collection!

@shinyumbreon . So sorry but we are currently not hiring. However, we are happy to entertain possible future applicants in how well you mangage the current tasks. :joy:. Currently, the thread and game moves forward in rounds as the community asks questions in relation to the crime (s) until we have a solution.

They certainly could have known each other. They would be close in age. Perhaps @tcgmaine Grandma Pratte could answe this question?

Is the murder mystery that the old font got murdered?

I think Dyl did it.

That being said, were Dyl and Professor Oak friends?

Oh, Smpratte and I? We go way back. Remember that time in Hawaii at World’s when we had that hot tub mishap with a few ladies? Yeah, I bet you’ve heard of it. I’m still unmarried (by choice, of course), spoiling my nieces and nephews almost as much as my army of 15 cutie-pie rabbits.

I’m not just any collector; I’m the E4 Pokémon guru and the unofficial historian of all juicy Discord chatter. Good luck keeping secrets around here; I’ve got the scoop on everyone. And just to sprinkle in a bit more about my oh-so-interesting life: I’m a mystery bookworm. Devoured every Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes book out there. And sometimes, when the weather’s dreary, Stephen King calls to me…

Anyway, I’m here in the Hotel Lobby waiting for Smpratte. He’s got some chit-chat about a card sale or something.

It is unlikely that @Dyl and Professor Oak knew each other.

How was Professor Oak killed? :thinking:

Hey, Folks!

I know that I wasn’t exactly invited, but I had to show up.

@Throwingknifekiller that is a pretty aggressive way to introduce yourself. In my line of work, you would have to take me out for a dinner before asking such personal questions.

I can let you know a few details about myself. I am here primarily on business. I am a high-demand grader at SGC and have been tasked to hunt for the next grails in the hobby. When I’m not working, I enjoy hitting up the club and getting to know other people in my industry. I tend to get a lot of attention because of my status and money, but deep down, the money means nothing to me. I don’t want to get off on the wrong footing among such preeminent collectors.

Was @stagecoach 's nervous breakdown Pokemon related?

Are @tcgmaine Grandma and @brendantheclayboy travelling together? If so, why would Grandma go to an E4 gathering if she (seemingly) loathes Pokemon?

@pwavy Geeze! If I knew that we could all go to the bar and call it a day!
