The 2023/24 Illustration Contest top 300 has been revealed, and we will be running a series of polls to figure out which entrees are E4’s Favorite.

Each Pokemon will get it’s own Poll

There are a number of artists here who I could see getting hired since I can imagine their styles working for other Pokemon.

MAKANA, OMATSU Mina, yumo, Osuka, KAGAWA ICHIGO, Kaya, Saki Kurobe, Shin, Spareribs and Buchy.

Didn’t vote for all of them nor did I list all the ones I did vote for, but the Pokemon card “feel” seems to be there.

I really like this one.

I like nearly all of these but I find it hard to see many of them looking good on an actual card.

This one seems to take too much liberity with the Pokemon design.

These three obscure too much of the central Pokemon and/or wash out any contrast between the Pokemon and the background.

Whereas even though these are simpler in comparison, they would these stand out really nicely in a card:

This one does a good job of contrasting the Pokemon to the background while still having the water blur effect, but overall falls a bit flat compared to some of the other art.

This one is a really good balance of realism, keeping the design accurate, contrasting the Pokemon to the background, keeping it the center of focus while also giving a unique perspective.

Feraligatr does real well when menacing and serious, however is suited for calm scenes too. nice and versatile.

I agree with your comments about how many dont look like theyd work for a card. I voted for very few since many have great style but dont seem to work beyond a fanart look.

Not my favorite entry but I really appreciate how this one is depicted. I’ve never seen a Feraligatr so closely resemble an actual alligator.

These 3 were probably if not my top 3 at least in top 5 too, all very unique looking in a perfect way. The top one may be my favourite here but the second one has very nice Kawayoo feeling in it

I’m surprised this isn’t getting more votes. It’s done really well with an interesting perspective and story going on.

And although I’m not surprised these aren’t (currently 1 and 0 votes) - since the first is really boring and the second whilst interesting isn’t very flattering - technically these are well done and commonplace in the TCG. I definitely would like to see the former do more cards with better ideas.
