"E4's Favorite" Polls - Archive

Overview Why I began doing these polls in December 2023 as a way to see how the community here ranks cards of various Pokemon or types of cards. Sometimes we may have an idea of what is #1, but what might round out the top 10? It’s hard to guess, and we always end up surprised in the end. Some of my favorite memories in Sapphire were sweeping with Salamence and Metagross. Between the two, I think I much prefer the Metagross arts.

Thanks for the poll as always @inertgeometry. I enjoyed this one.

What stood out for me is that Bagon has so much character as a Pokemon with its quest to fly and the evolution basically kills that character because somehow the lack of mouth on the Shelgon just makes it so much less expressive. Also Bagon - Shelgon - Flygon??

I really love the 2 promos that @rtas mentioned above, however, the top 5 is still very good.

It’s obvious! Salamence and shelgon peaked in the rookie appearances. You don’t give us hoes of hoenn the perfect meteor falls scene and then try to top that.

What I appreciate about salamence is that it is not going bipedal as it evolves like Dragonite. It’s the opposite. It really is the classic dragon example. I think Pokemon tends to do this a lot and I can’t really think of a design that it works for? It always makes them goofy looking
