"E4's Favorite" Polls - Archive

Overview Why I began doing these polls in December 2023 as a way to see how the community here ranks cards of various Pokemon or types of cards. Sometimes we may have an idea of what is #1, but what might round out the top 10? It’s hard to guess, and we always end up surprised in the end. It is also a great avenue to learn about new cards of Pokemon we may not have seen before. This two have a special place in my heart: it’s not just nostalgy, they really embody the perfect representation of eevee in my opinion. I love the posture, the colors, the semplicity.

Extraordinarily consistent through gen 4. Scramble is the first one I don’t like and Call of Legends is the first one I absolutely hate.

Marked drop in quality during Gen 5, the typical modern issues. Blotchy, disproportionate, cartoony stuff, unnecessary colors, unflattering digital stuff, tacky abstractions, anthropomorphizing, neoteny (Furious Fists reminds me of the sun from Teletubbies.) And that’s just the regular cards, then there’s GX’s and ponchos and so on. But there’s some good ones sprinkled in, like the recent Nakai. That one is very good.

I don’t think I have a favorite. Maybe Fan Club Aoki or Vending Arita.

I know Sugimori stock art is somewhat looked down upon, but this card is so lovely in holographic form. The colours are beautiful, I’m glad (and surprised) to see it getting votes!

Thanks for running this. The cuter and proportionally correct artworks seem to do better. Some bad arts in the mid era and the boring computer arts definately did bad and rightfully so.

The real question is who is the one person who voted for Eevee GX ? just kidding.

Honestly surprised this one is as low as it is. It’s honestly one of my favorites of all time. Really like the lighting and facial expression on it.
