hurts voting against adv/pcg, but Vs is the greatest executed set concept and was the first e-series/newback set which brought in a bunch of changes still around today.

I love the promos

I was debating whether to use pokellector or bulbapedia lists lol

I think EX is the best series because of its diversity. There’s something for almost everyone.

I said E-Card assuming we mean Expedition - EX TM vs TA, even though they lost some of the features of the e-cards of wotc, they’re still e-cards to me. All the cards from 2003 really have a similar vibe to me even though there was massive changes halfway through and I am sure many would cut off e-cards with wotc

(also why does CoL not count in HGSS, you gotta give HGSS something, it cant stand on its own without CoL)

Nuh uh E-Card is 100% wotc.

But they have dot codes and the same layout and were made within a couple months of each other. Besides WOTC transferring ownership they have more in common than different.

Im going by bulbapedia, also, the pokemon company also makes the distinction that the gen 3 sets THEY made are EX, and the others are something else.

I couldn’t deal with it :sob:

nothing hits like wotc promos, but my heart is in ex era

I wouldve grouped up web and vs

I didn’t grow up with either WotC E-series or EX era, but these two are definitely my favorites.

If you looked at their JP counterparts, none of the early EX/ADV set or promo cards had the lingering e-reader designs. It felt as though TPCi (Pokémon USA Inc at the time) was slow to adapt during the licensing transition

To give one example,

  • The only T promos that made it to English were the Larvitar, Pupitar and Tyranitar ex, released in the same month as Ruby & Sapphire (January 2003).
  • English EX Ruby & Sapphire released in June 2003, with the e reader designs
  • The T promos didn’t show up in English until POP Series 1 (2004-05) and Collector Tin (Tyranitar ex, 2007), no e reader designs like the original

I’m an absolute sucker for nostalgia when it comes to the Vending series. Seeing the art for each card was in my first ever card guide which introduced me to Japanese exclusives. I love the variety of art and the fact that the sheets are based on inner regions of the original game made it all the more appealing.

I can admit other sets have better quality, but I feel like none can compare to the pure charm that is Vending Series. Such a wonky and fun set. I’d die if they came out with anything remotely similar again.

I personally have always viewed Diamond and Pearl through CoL to be the same era. It’s unfortunate they are all split like that (I know it was by Bulbapedia), because that would have been my vote.

There’s a difference between “era” and “series” though. I disagree with the list. How can vending, a so called series (a 3 small set series) compare to an entire era for most people (ex or e card)? It’s silly to me. Vending and e series are my favorite and the most exciting ive ever collecting, but since vending was both my first adult love and is going to be underrepresented here because of the unfairness, im gonna say that. But the poll is null to me because it mixes eras and series.

You act like thats my fault. I got the list from bulbapedia and just wanted to see what series e4 liked the most. And btw, vending wont have any trouble keeping up. it has the same amount of votes As Base-Gym.

The problem isnt that im mixing eras and series, as E-card is tied with EX. E-card Is WAY shorter than Ex, and yet its tied. So set length has nothing to do with it. E-card only has, lets see… 3 sets? wow. the same amount as vending. It sounds like you are just trynna raise a problem bc vending isnt first.

POLL ENDS 3/7/34

i thought the typo is funny so im keeping it.

I’ve changed my vote 3 times, but I’m going E-card because there is more diversity than in a single set like VS (which was my original vote). In an ideal world E-card and VS would be in the same series and my life would be simpler, but I get for the purposes of this poll that can’t be changed, haha. While I less experience with EX, I see the appeal as there is much more variety there as @Dyl said.
