Hey everyone I sold my opened 1st edition and base packs and the auction went higher than I expected. Of course the buyer didn’t pay but I am getting multiple messages from people asking to pay right away and I’m not sure if they are spam or why they want to pay so much ! (I got offered $1200 and $900 and $1000 even though the auction ended around $700) also one of the guys sold a shadowless no label box so do you think he will reseal these? I want them to go to good owners and a good home and not be used to counterfeit. I would like to prevent any future problems and would like to inform everyone who these buyers are or where I end up sending them too as these buyers are being weird and sketching me out! Any thoughts?!
Can you link the auction here so we know what your talking about.

I’m surprised you’re getting such high offers as well. There’s no easy way to ensure they won’t be resealed… Unless you mark them which I’m sure most collectors would cringe at the thought of doing.
I saw a 1st Ed. box selling in Germany for 120 euro last year/beginning of this year, I don´t know the market for those in the US but here in Europe the price would be ok, maybe a bit high.
Yeah the only thing I could do is provide the location or eBay names of these people to someone here so if they randomly see a 1st edition 100k box pop up for sale they will know it isn’t real. As some of the people messages me I look on one guys specific page I see they sell other shadowless boxes which worries me
I appreciate how conscientious you are with regards to selling them to a good intentioned & proper collector. If you’re still a collector you should stick around! And maybe post a collection thread?
Personally, I have no problem at all with people selling their residual Pokémon stuff. If there’s value to something, sell it.
It’s no different than sealed stuff. Should you not sell sealed stuff since some nitwit can open it then seal it up? Or should you open up all your sealed product and burn the empty packs and boxes cause, after all, someday you may sell your sealed product to someone with ill intentions?
While I agree I think there’s reason behind it, and being careful about who receives them deserves merit. The difference between sealed and unsealed product is the barrier to entry, whereas unsealed is almost a thousandth the price.
The only reason I can see people offering a lot is if they didn’t even read the listing or the fine print and think for some reason the cards are being sold with it.
I remember this auction. I was interested, but when I saw that it is going for over $600 I knew it right away - bidders didn’t read the description and think that this is for SEALED stuff lol
It sold for over 700.00 and even that was too little.
I have multiple confirmations that they know the boxes are empty and packs are empty and I did end up selling to one guy but others still desperately trying to buy them but anyways if you see any boxes pop up you can come back here I will provide whatever information needed to prove authentication! I am hard on money and wanted to sell the memorabilia cheers
I could be misreading you. After all, it’s hard to read emotion through text. But I feel this matter is weighing on your conscience. Don’t let it.
You did all you could in informing the buyer, us and at the end of the day, you just have cool memorabilia and people want to pay money for it. There’s nothing wrong and whatever bad stuff that could potentially come from it, is none of your fault. You are not complicit.
You did the right thing and you should enjoy the (unexpected) money that came from it. Good job!
Yeah I just decided to keep them as the one guy who won the auction onlinebutler seemed to want to reseal them and kept asking specific questions about condition of boxes and packs after winning auction and not paying so I canceled it and he threatened to leave negative feedback and the yokido-us ebayer said he might just want the best one (for the auction price) most likely to reseal lol so to save myself and others in the future the hassle, I’ll just keep the 3 boxes. No big deal
Dang I’d really want one of those 1st Ed Empty boxes. Been picking up empty boxes here and there for a future display goal. If you decide to let one go to a real collector - let me know although I’m super unsure of what a fair price for something like that is.

If they’re pretty mint then upwards of 500.00 isn’t out of line. Lesser conditions may go to 400.00 then 300.00,
