Hey guys, I’ve been selling on eBay for a bit now and I am just now getting into buying on it. It seemed hard to find Buy It Now deals, so I went looking for auctions, but I’ve been outbid at the last second on every auction I’ve bid on. Are sniping apps a must for buying on eBay? Should I be avoiding auctions?
Also, are there any good general tips for eBay shopping that I should know, as a newbie to it? In terms of actually finding stuff, etc. Anything would be appreciated …
I use sniping apps for eBay (gixen.com), if you don’t use them your best bet is to enter your max bid with 3sec left if you’re around when the auction ends. I find if you enter your max early people will sometimes shill you up dollar by dollar or someone will gt emotionally invested and not want to lose and outbid you, you eliminate a lot of the emotional and nefarious side of an auction for you and other bidders if you setup a snipe.
Gixen seems really good, thanks, I’ll try it out now. Also, is there any way to track certain search terms or keywords so that you are notified if something new is up? And if so, do people use this?
You perform an eBay Search as usual - whatever you want; I’d recommend something very specific though unless you want to receive another million e-mails from eBay, on top of the million that you already get everyday! LOL Anyway, once you’re on the search results page, there will be a small heart icon to the right of the “__ results found for __” - just click that and you’ll get an e-mail whenever anything is listed with that search criteria.
I’ve tried this for a few things and it never tells me until several hours after something has been listed, so if it’s a really good deal you’ll probably miss out Or maybe that’s just me!
